A hint... DaVinci painted him. But still, what is that black sphere he is holding?

Well. He looks like one of the pictures I have been seeing on christian posters, calenders, books, other stuff and movies. The stuff he is holding...It looks like an ancient ball.:dunno :shrug :confused

I remember the song that says: 'He's got the whole world...in His hand...'

A transparent globe;)

As a child I used to think the picture is Christ. Just a representaion.

Oh so close, Classik! You hit it on the head when you said representation, but it surly ain't the Christ nor is that the world (but again, close). You are decreed AWESOME for indulging me, though.

Perhaps I didn't say it's Christ;) I'm the smarter one:lol

'Nearly' can't kill a rat - it gives it a heartattack. I will keep trying.

What did you do to my IMG:dunno
Can't view the inscription

Indeed. You got me (poetically, too) and it made me smile.

The image is your avatar with the stamp of AWESOME on it. I was in rare mood yesterday. :thumbsup

@ Free

If you would post the painting you are talking about it would be appreciated. My source has potential to be inaccurate.

Is this Salvator Mundi the one you were thinking of? It is recently believed to be Da Vince also. Previously thought to have been painted by Beltraffio.

Yes, that would be the one, but it looks like there actually may be several:

It is of Christ holding an orb of some sort.

No sir, thanks though. I have made a poem for a second hint. Feel free to make fun of my lack of rhythm.

The world has thought the beauty of Christ complete
While gazing at Da Vinci's feat
But what they missed within His stare
Was a god who really was not there

Who had the vestal lot of this world fooled
For his Papal father unjustly ruled
The art of this master painter
Ought be the method of the divine tainter.

I need to steal this poem.
Noble price winner:thumbsup

It looks like the face was photo shopped in. I tried to block out the hair, but I couldn't determine if it looked like someone else who's famous.

It looks exactly like this person. They didn't have photoshop in the 1500's silly...

Another hint: This historical person is featured in a much anticipated video game.

I'm guessing you're thinking of Cesare Borgia, son of Roderic Borgia aka Pope Alexander VI.

I don't know what the thing is he's supposed to be carrying...since we're not going with da Vinci's representation of Salvatore Mundi (the Savior of the World) holding a globus cruciger (cross bearing orb, medieval symbol of Christ's dominion over the earth).

Nope...but apparently they had video games, cause Cesare is in one! ;)

BAM! You win! ...well you win half way. There is still the question about this thing in his hand.

Handy can you divulge a pearl about this Cesare character? What is this man known for? How did he get mistaken for the Messiah?
