Who Manifested Who?

One Question though, were is the Holy Spirit in this?

Hmm...interesting. Why do you ask.

Because the Holy Spirit played a role in it also. I have never really sat down and wrote out an explanation or carried my thoughts out to were I am comfortable to post it and get my point across. Just wanting to see what others thought.

Very, very simple though Dave,

God the Father made the plan.

Jesus Christ was/is the Plan....the thing that throws me and most others is the Humanity of Christ. Jesus Christ has always been full deity from eternity past. But He was not always human. But even in the womb Jesus Christ was Full Deity. Yeah like I said, I am far from putting it into words. Thoughts?

The Holy Spirit reveals the Plan.

gr8grace If the Holy Spirit was part of the manifestation into Mary's womb, then why did Jesus get baptized by John the Baptist when he was an adult. Luke 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.â€

light isn't eternal. the sun and stars weren't the origin of light. the creator of light is.

jesus was manifested in the flesh. jesus also said if I lay down my life I shall pick it up again. yet paul says the father hath raised him up.

Its interesting that the genealogy of Jesus through Mary is given right after that verse . The legal line is given in Matt 1. The Spirit revealing who the Father really is? The Holy Spirit? What do you think?

Jesus and God are one. He the father gave of himself to take upon himself our sins. Hard to comprhend but I believe it when Jesus said "I and my father are one"...........John 10:30 Jesus was there in the begining and he will be there in the end, for he is the ALpha and Omega. What a Great God we worship. Who can fully understand his ways.........................

I think it was a MUST for Jesus to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. He was teaching us that we ALL must be born again to enter God's kingdom. He was setting an example with John the Baptist. Born of water/Born of Spirit. But how can you be born a second time etc..He was setting an example as in, he was lowering himself to the likeness of man, being baptized in the river with regular sinful folk. He did that also when he washed the feet of his apostles. He lowered himself. Say for example, Jesus never got baptized in the river by John. What would that action say to humanity. "Oh you can preach a good game, but you won't go to the river and get baptized?? Who do you think you are? Spirit baptism is a must, and he was proving that, at the river.

This sheds a little new light on Matthew 3:13-14 for me.

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”
15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

WIP Ok, so the universe and we as human beings were created. However, Jesus is the only one or thing that was manifested. Everything else was created. I can live with that. Jesus dwelled in the spirit realm before mary's womb with the name son. He did not have arms and legs until he was manifested into Mary's womb. That leaves the question. Did God the Father manifest his son into flesh using his omnipotence, or did the son manifest himself into flesh.

Instead of the word 'manifested' try using the word 'revealed'. It is simply making known to others that which already is. Read Hebrews 2. The Word(Jesus) took on a created flesh body so that He, as God, could reveal Himself to us in a way we could understand. The Holy Spirit initiated Mary's pregnancy.

The Holy Spirit initiated Mary's pregnancy.

Do you have scripture about the HS initiating pregnancy. Are you talking about 1 Timothy, being vindicated by the spirit. I do know that an angel was sent to Mary to tell her of the good news.

Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
