Who should we pray to?
God or Jesus, randomly, both; it doesn't matter whose name you mention.
Act_20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks,
repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Act_20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry,
which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
1Co_5:4 I
n the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ
Eph_2:18 For through him we both
have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
According to the eternal purpose which he (God the Father- mike) purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
(Eph 3:11-12 KJV)
It really depends on what your asking. We have access to the Father through the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit tells us what He hears. We also have access by the Purpose of the Father unto the Lord Jesus.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
(Mat 18:19-20 KJV)
If your asking for a thing, then go right to the Father.
If I am having a ministry question, then I would say, "Lord Jesus, how would you say and do this?"
At times you can tell which one is speaking to you, but for the most part Jesus gave us access to the Father in His name, and normally you would go to the Father.
Or, you can just throw a Oneness or some type of trinity doctrine in there and then there is no Son or Holy Spirit but just One God after you get done with the math. Makes it real easy that way.
Or, you can ask Mary, see how that works out for you.
