I was discussing this with a mod the other day, and still in wonderment. Something I've noticed, that Christians have a reputation for being arrogant and opinionated. I think it's an accurate impression, unfortunately. There's a lot of infighting and personal attacking on this very forum, and it sends what must be an awful message to the rest of the world. Exactly the opposite image of Christianity as a movement of love, understanding, and forgiveness, and the opposite of what this forum is supposed to be about to the outside world. So what's up, people?
I try not to be, but the other day I was becoming upset over a discussion, it's not about being right, it's about winning, imo. We hate to admit we're wrong, because of pride.
Would we act like this if we're all in the same room? I don't think we would.
We've also become a social media society, we all think our opinions are important, like if we don't share it someone will miss out on what we have to share. Like right now!
I read opinions at the end of articles on MSN and I just am shocked at how people treat one another and why do people even take the time out to make a comment in the first place? Millions of people are commenting, their comment is a speck among all of them, it's kind of pointless to comment, imo.
It's not limited to Christianity, although we should be held to a higher standard, right? We're supposed to be acting as Christ and I can't see Him arguing over things that we humans argue over. Do you?
Maybe it's because we're kind of a narcissistic society and social media has exacerbated it?
I don't know, just, yet, another opinion among millions.
