Why Christians confuse me.

Oats

Member
Why is it that we as Christians are quick to believe in Jesus and his miracles (which is right)

but when it comes to aliens, martial arts, meditation, studies of pseudo science
they all get labeled occult

----

From the outside looking in that is Hypocrisy

what makes Jesus' miracles any more Viable than a Yogi's?

------

I believe a lot of demonic forces are at work.....

but how do we prove this without being hypocritical?

Truly, Oats, you need to know that when we become Christians, we are given the Holy Spirit who teaches us by some measure of discernment.

If something doesn't glorify God inherently, then it isn't of Him.

From the outside looking in that is Hypocrisy

What is hypocritical about good judgment?

You don't know that? Or are you just trying to create discussion for the sake of discussion?

dude read the op

I said I know they are true....

but those without the Holy Spirit would see it as hypocrisy

you sure love rebuking me

got a crush or some thing:confused:

Suppose you explain why knowing the truth and acting on it would be considered hypocrisy?

I don't understand why Christians find it so hard to believe that sinful people would believe sinful things

ignorance is ignorance

Only God can bring his wisdom into their darkness

When Christians go around acting as if we have figured it out something is wrong....

We are saved but we are still sinful

Hey, I am not into all of the 'terms' used, but are you familiar with King Saul in 1 Sam. 28:3-19? see verse 6 first, & then what Saul did. But remember that it was Saul who had.. 'had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.' (at the Lords command)

I suppose an unbeliever could consider we are less than accepting of all things, but spiritual scruples R us!

I think some Christians tend to forget they were sinners once, too.

The redeemed are not sinful.

i. Many Christians believe in aliens.
ii. Many Christians take martial arts.
iii. Many Christians meditate.

Well, you wrote "we as Christians," so you seemed to be implying that Christians as a whole think this way.

I've been feeling like some Christians can be extremely arrogant recently.. To act like they know everything they could possibly know about God and his creation is odd. Like some people believe dinosaur bones are just placed there by Satan to test our faith.. really? The bible is small in comparison to time through the ages and God. I mean God is all powerful. How can we even fathom what he did or what he is going to do? To think you could possibly know everything and start calling it sin, even saying God speaks through you to say something like Yoga is evil.. and then passing judgement on anyone who does it.. is just plain arrogant. It seems like something that would be sin in and of itself.

And Christians sin just as much as anyone else. Even when you only tell little white lies to avoid hurting someone with the truth, you just sinned. Christ may have died so that you may be forgiven, but that didn't stop Adam and Eve from eating from that apple that God bobbed in front of their faces.

Man, you can go ahead and shun Yoga.. but try not to pass judgement on others when they're doing Yoga, meditating, not wearing long dresses that cover their shins, listening to rock music, watching Harry Potter.

Last I checked, we're not stoning women that get raped in the city and don't scream loud enough for everyone to hear anymore. God made everything so that it would constantly evolve. Get over it.

You don't sin? :toofunny

I sin occasionally, but I am not sinful, or called a sinner by God. I am righteous in His eyes because of His Grace and the cleansing blood of His son, Jesus.

In Christ I am a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

They need to grow in God.

Many of them are unaware of the origins of such activity.

Unless that means prayer and time with God through Jesus Christ, they need to cease.

quick question , as i know the answer and you are pro- canadian army.

the armies both use martial arts. i know as i talk to your soldiers alot.

we train the canadians alot and vice versa.

the sport of boxing and mma and others have religious aspects to them but isnt what the jews did in war the same thing?

think about it eliminate the esoterism and you have straight up kill or be killed.

They need to grow in God.

Is there a line in the bible that specifically says that only things stated in the Bible exist? What makes you think life couldn't be on another planet? Gods all powerful, he can do what he wants.. why do you think he wouldn't be able to start life somewhere else?

What evil origin does Martial Arts come from?

...seriously? Don't practice Martial Arts because it originated somewhere else? That sounds awfully close to being racially intolerant. I instantly picture a white supremasist saying something like that to his slave .. or hicks yelling derogatory names at African Americans about rap music.

How can ANYONE in their right mind think the act of practicing Martial Arts, that originated in another country with another belief system, is anywhere near evil? Thats like saying a wholesome police officer who saves lives and lives an honest life is a bad person because he has a gun, and murderers use guns.

Theres got to be more to it. Please, divulge this information. I refuse to believe anyone can be that intolerant nowadays.
