Bible Study Why Did The Jews Wish to Kill Jesus?

not even going to try to explain this even though i could provide scripture on second thought i will give it a try ...
Matthew 27:2-4 King James Version (KJV)
2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11 King James Version (KJV)
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

John 17:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

this is Judas
you use you learning problem as a excuse.. do you even understand repentance turning from he was the son of perdition look it up

i have tried to show you the difference Godly sorrow is what peter had he repented Book of acts we find him preaching the day of Pentecost/2 thousand souls saved. Judas repented of him self . hung himself.. God dos not direct one to kill them selves when repenting of sin he had worldly sorrow

It's still sorrow though. It was better than not repenting at all even though he should have never done that as I already stated.

it was prophesied in scripture he would be betrayed
John 13:29-31 King James Version (KJV)

John 13:26-27 New International Version (NIV)

26 Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.

So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”

28 But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.

29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and" it was night." darkness represents evil

31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

this scripture is a prophecy of his betray .. all helped bring this together? the devil did

this is about a easy as i can explain

It's not what you said it's how you said it that bothers me. :neutral

You actually made a valid point there.

It's not what you said it's how you said it that bothers me.
i am not very tactful but i get my point across .i realize your learning/comprehension problem . i will compare what i read a little girl mom said. he daughter had a brain aneurysm . by all right she shouldn't be here or a vegetable- not able to function at all. her mom has been giving updates on her progress.
the daughter has been trying to walk see she lost all motor skills even learning to swallow . she told her mom she cant wait to run and jump and skip. she is determined to do this... you may have the problem .
but stop letting the problem get you down.. i know of a Gospel singer and song writer that reads backwards . he over com his problem graduated from college and writes music.. you can over come some push your self.never settle for i cant do it . we have a 9 year old staying with us and i stay on her hot a heavy.... i was easy on you..:shock

Again I repeat, how do you know that Judas hadn't repented (at least in his heart if not out loud) before he hung himself?
I'll offer my thoughts. To repent from sin means to turn back toward God, to once again put your trust in Him. If I trust God with all my heart, what reason would I have to take my own life? Would I not choose life? In the same way, I suspect that if Judas had repented, he would have seen the light and would much rather live for Jesus. But as it was, he had lost his hope (which would be found in Jesus) and so he hung himself.

Good point, but my point is that in the end the only two people who know whether or not Judas repented in the end is Jesus and Judas himself.

First of all I just didn't know what else to call them at first and second of all I highly doubt that all the jews loved Him. Just take a look at Peter and Judas. Judas betrayed Him and Peter denied Him three times. Of course both of them didn't hate Him and felt guilty about it afterwards, but they still weren't always showing Him love or worship either.
actually the religious leaders are the problem when they hate others or are jealous of others

So basically whether or not they loved Him or hated Him it was all for the same reason; greed. I always say that I love the Lord because He died for me and first loved me,.. otherwise I really don't think I would have any reason to if I'm being perfectly honest.

well that too is greed/selfishness to love someone for what they do for us

they were surprised He died so soon - Mark 15:44 - proof that He gave up the ghost as the bible says

Yes but my point was He would of died even if He hadn't chosen to die so soon. He probably just wanted to end His suffering at that point.

Here's a todays history lesson.
The Sanhedrin was the ruling party in Jesus day and their appointment started with Moses. You could say they were the Supreme Court when it came to matters of the law, which are of course the Scriptures.

Prior to the birth of Jesus, Rome occupied Israel and appointed Harod as king. Harod was a vile man who killed his own sons because he thought they were threats to his throne. He also killed many children hoping to kill Jesus, but he didn't succeed.

When Harod was appointed King of Israel, his first task was to secure the law of the land, which is to say he needed to control the Supreme Court aka the Sanhedrin.

As a result, whoever would now succumb to his rule, which is to say whoever would not deny scripture to support him was put to death and a new yes man was appointed.

Many times Jesus explains the law to the Sanhedrin. In part, this is because they honestly did not know the basics of the law. Jesus wasn't the only one who had to explain the law and another fellow named Hillel helped teach them and became a Sanhedrin himself.

We see Jesus at the temple when he was 12 and at that time, Hillel was leading council. Ironically, there are no disputes and they are amazed at his knowledge.

Forward another 15 years and Hillel was replaced by a teacher named Shamia as ruling council within the Sanhedrin courts and it was within this context Jesus has much to say and they are no longer amazed at his teachings.

Jesus had become a national threat to King Harod (not to be mistaken for his Father who was King first) and its alliance to Rome. Members of the Sanhedrin such as Nicodemus were already turning toward God and if this movement continued, the Supreem court would no longer be subject to the Kings rule under Rome, but rather it would go back to biblical rule.

In part, this is why the ruling party of the Sanhedrin wanted Jesus dead.
