And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:......John 4:3
1 John 4:15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

What do they change it to ?

BTW, I see the word "confess" not as some public announcement, but as what is manifested by one's conduct.
For instance: By refusing to tell a lie, we confess that Jesus is the Son of God.

"Those who do not confess that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh are not truly regenerated,.....".

The above was written on another thread "Jesus is God- the test..."

But where is that scripture written like that in the Bible?

I know of this one:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:......John 4:3
1 John 4:15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Then you should be addressing this question to Elected By Him, correct?

No, a couple of others said this too.

What do you think John is talking about in those to verses?

Just what it says...what about you?
That isn’t helpful. I believe “just what it says,” but I suspect we don’t fully agree about what it says. You also don’t agree with what others believe about what it says.

What do you think John is talking about in the first verse, 1 John 4:3? Everything has context which must be taken into account.

Honestly, I have no idea what information you are looking for.
Some believe you must confess Jesus is God to be born again.

But here are the scriptures:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:......John 4:3
1 John 4:15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

So does one need to have a revelation of this to be saved?

Or does on need to:confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Ok, thanks. I can see how there is controversy in making that passage in 1 John about what is necessary for a person to be saved. I see it as a passage to help us discriminate between spirits.

I agree, as a "spirit" cannot do or say anything.
A lot of 1 John is about determining who is, and who is not, "of God".
I John 1 uses walking in the light-God, or walking in darkness-sin, to separate the converted from the unconverted.
1 John 3 uses the fruit of the devil, or the fruit of God's seed, to make the same determination.

I start these post in ❤️ and any unwholesome comments that disturb my peace are too expensive.
