My veil is actually a sign of my authority (my beautiful hair) 1 Corinthians 11:10I posted scripture .its actually a veil .Jewish traditions ,look,at pictures of Mary the mother of Jesus ,Elizabeth ,always under a covering ,akin to a hijab .
Not a veil.My veil is actually a sign of my authority (my beautiful hair) 1 Corinthians 11:10
Let's suppose the hair is a covering as you suggest. Now, let's look at Paul's argument.Butch, it literally says that. Her hair is given to her for a covering.
Why are you opposed to wearing a cover. If you'e unsure isn't it better to err on the side of caution? We will just have to disagree, cause this is what I am seeing.
I am going to go by the scripture I posted. It literally says the hair is "her" covering. I don't care what they did back before Paul stating this very fact. Not a veil.
You,do understand why they do cover their heads, its to shoe submissiom an women who didn't,was a prostitute or also in rebellion .
Hair isn't and wasn't considered to be the covering .Paul wouldnt suggest covering the head if you had hair .
I'm opposed to it, because Paul makes it quite clear. Why are you opposed to wearing a cover. If you'e unsure isn't it better to err on the side of caution?
You are not reading it.I am going to go by the scripture I posted. It literally says the hair is "her" covering. I don't care what they did back before Paul stating this very fact.
You're not. As I've pointed out, saying the hair is the covering makes Paul's argument nonsensical. His statement about the hair refers to what he said about nature.I'm opposed to it, because Paul makes it quite clear.
In the scripture I posted it also says "it is for her glory?" My literal hair is more glorious than a flopped on material veil. Meaning, my authority over me...........(God) is BEAUTIFUL.God is using the church to make His wisdom known to principalities and powers in heavenly places. This is why Paul says the woman should be covered and show the authority that is over her. Remember, when Satan sinned a third of the angels joined him and left their ranks, their positions. They rejected the authority over them. The head covering is for women to show that they accept their rank or position, the authority over them.
Generally it's been that men have short hair and women long. This is what Paul is appealing to.
But that's not the covering. In the scripture I posted it also says "it is for her glory?" My literal hair is more glorious than a flopped on material veil. Meaning, my authority over me...........(God) is BEAUTIFUL.
He's referring to nature. In other words you wouldn't see a woman without her hair in nature so you shouldn't see a woman uncovered while praying or prophesying.I agree and this was my point the whole time.
In the scripture I posted it also says "it is for her glory?" My literal hair is more glorious than a flopped on material veil. Meaning, my authority over me...........(God) is BEAUTIFUL.
It says it in the scripture "I" posted. It says hair is given to her as a covering. But that's not the covering.
Cover your head, meaning........if you don't have hair.........put a covering on.When Paul says a woman should cover her head he uses Katakalupto. It's a verb, it means to cover. If the hair is the cover, why would Paul tell the women to put on their hair? It's a verb he's telling them to put it on. Do woman take their hair off and put if on?
