First quit looking how others who call themselves a Christian behave as not all are His own, Matthew 7:21. You said in another thread you have read the Bible cover to cover, but you have no Spiritual understanding as from the Holy Spirit teaching you. A true Christian will be displaying the fruits of the Spirit as they let the light of Christ shine through them, Mathew 5:13-16; Galatians 5:22-24.

You will know you are a true child of God by humbling yourself before the Lord and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior. You believe by faith that He is truly the Son of God, then by being Spiritually reborn again from above you will to see the kingdom of God, John 3:1-7, Romans 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8-10.

This is the beginning of you having a personal relationship with Jesus as the relationship with Him starts by accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, by prayer (talking to Him and allowing Him to speak to your heart) and through studying the word of God as you pray and ask the Holy Spirit teach you that of what has already been written in the scriptures to learn who Jesus is and your relationship with Him. If you study the book of John this will explain who Jesus is and your relationship with Him.

Again, quit looking at people and put your focus on the Lord as there are many out there that say they are a Christian, but are wolves in sheep clothing wanting to devour you, Matthew 7:15-20.

I am not a Christian okay, and the reason why is because of Christian's. I think that's fair, that I should judge how effective Jesus teachings are based on how Christian's perform in this world. I have never seen one Christian live up to anything close to what Jesus teaches can be accomplished through him, and why is that exactly?

This is not a fair assessment of all Christians as all you have seen are those around you proclaiming they are a Christian, but by evidence they are not. You have claimed in another thread you have read the Bible cover to cover, but that is all you did was read it like any other book as you truly were not seeking God or you would have the Spiritual knowledge through God's Holy Spirit. If you were truly seeking you would have found Him as He is only a prayer away.

We have been explaining what it is to have a personal relationship with Him and how to obtain that, but yet you question it instead of reading the scriptures all of us have given you.

Joshua 24 choose you this day in whom you will serve, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

None of us was born a Christian as each of us had to seek Him in order to know Him.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I hold no anger towards anyone because if I am not walking in love than I am none of God's own and would be in disobedience to His greatest commandment which is love, Matthew 22:34-40.

What we are trying to do here is share God's word with you as you have been misguided by others that call themselves a Christian, but are not any better than the Pharisees they have become because they have not the love of God in them nor do they know God's grace and mercy, but only play the part very poorly.

If you are truly seeking then you will find Him, but if you are not seeking then God will be lost to you forever and what you will face is His fiery judgement against you, John 5:28, 29. You try to find truth through man, but you nor any of us will never find it that way. It is only by God's Holy Spirit that teaches us and reveals all truths.

What have you heard that has convinced you God is real? Even though you have explained that God will convince me he is real, can you tell me what I should look out for.

God Himself made it clear to me in a way that convinced me He was real

what is convincing to me might not be convincing to you

for me over a period of 3 months i had several proofs from God that He was real

my first response to each proof was "wow this is God" - my 2nd response to each proof "ah this is probably just a coincidence"

i did this over and over for 3 months to each proof God gave me until the last proof He gave i had a 3rd response of "coincidences don't happen 100% of the time!" - and then i was forever convinced God was real

after i was convinced God was real i then had other relationship issues with God that made me wonder if God loved me - so i had to go through the same method on this issue

then i wondered if the bible was reliable - and went through the same method for that issue

basically once you start interacting with God like this it never ends - there is always something you will wonder about and if you seek God directly He will sort each issue out for you

that is the awesome thing about God - if YOU directly and sincerely ask Him to convince you He is real He will find a way that is convincing to YOU - just keep your heart open and aware of what will happen after you ask God for proof

that is why a direct relationship with God is the key to faith in God for any of us who need proof - some people don't need proof - they just believe in God - i needed proof

so your saying you wished you met the Lord Jesus before you met all His fouled up followers. I think that is very fair. We are an amazingly flawed group of people all seeking to grow in our love and faith to be more Christlike. But don't let His fouled up children stop you from meeting the One who loved you and everyone enough to die in the manner that maybe the worst way anyone invented, ever. The Lord knew exactly how screwed up we were going to be and still died that I could live in the greatest love story there ever has been or will be. He saw who and what you would be and died for you as well. You may regret meeting some who are called Christians but you will never regret knowing the Christ.

Might I offer a small pray for you me and whoever else can use it. Thanks!

There is a warning Lord that our walk does matter and as always our weakness is charge to your account. Lord if there is hurt from encounters with Christians please heal them. I agree it's a fair question, and I think you've got a fair assessment of the situation, unfortunately. Most so-called Christians do fall woefully short. They are lukewarm at best, CHINOs at worst. They think they are saved through Jesus Christ, but in their personal life commit all kinds of unrepentant sin. I don't think they are saved. I think a lot of "Christians" wind up in Hell. In fact, I heard the ratio is insane, like only 1 in a thousand make it. I don't know it it's really that bad, but I'm sure the truth is astonishing.

But this only means one should re-examine their own commitment to Christianity, and be one of the few.

nobody could possibly know what the ratio is.
