WHY man is unable to choose Jesus and the Gospel

Paul overcame a lifetime as a Pharisee.
What better example could we have of one searching for, and finding, the truth; in spite of religious, familial, cultural, and governmental, obstacles ?
You think that was just Paul's doing?
Acts 9:1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord . . .

He was literally on the way to persecute Christians when the Lord met him. Talked to him. Made him blind for 3 days. Paul was stopped in his tracks from what he wanted to do. The men with him had to lead him by the hand into Damascus.
Acts 9:9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

You act like Paul all of himself just suddenly came to his senses.

Nobody came to Him of their own free will. God gives them a new heart and mind and then they come to Him of their own free will.
I don't agree.
One doesn't get a new anything until after their repentance from sin and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins. (2 Cor 5:17, Acts 2:38)
That baptism provides their being raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:4)
Have you never heard of a woman who says that when she first met her husband she didn't like him, but he kept pursuing her and finally she came around to find herself falling in love with him? That was a kind of forcing. He was able to change her mind and opinion of him.
She used her own free will to make her decision.
You don't think an omniscient God can draw people to Him that at first want nothing to do with Him?
He has provided a world full of good things, to provide a draw to the creator of that goodness. (Rom 1:20)
The folks you describe have decided on their own to change allegiances.

Jesus did say to Paul..."And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." (Acts 9:5)
Paul knew what he was doing against the new church wasn't right.
God presented him with a new kind of life, and he accepted it.

Yes, and if you want to proclaim an impotent, weak, and ineffective God who desires all kinds of things that He cannot accomplish, that is between you and God.

Those are your evil words, not mine.

I just quoted scripture.

If you believe God doesn't love the people of the world, and doesn't want all men to be saved then so be it.

You are entitled to your opinion.

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

  • but that the world through Him might be saved.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

  • For God so loved the world

All those scriptures apply to the elect only!

All those scriptures apply to the elect only!

Do you believe the world refers to the elect?

Do you believe that Jesus came to save people who are already saved?

Please point out where the word elect is mentioned in
John 3:16-17

I’m not mis-reading anything.

I posted the scriptures.

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die. John 12:32-33

Was Jesus lifted up from the earth?

Yes, He was crucified.

So the condition for Him drawing all men to Himself has been met.

Paul confirms the doctrine of Christ which teaches that God loves the people of the world and desires for them to be saved.

If you want to try and teach people that God doesn’t love the world, that God doesn’t want all men to be saved then that’s between you and God.
You have a point, @JBL, but what does the "world" do in response to God's love? The following verses to John 3:16 show their response, and the sad thing is that the majority of the people in the "world" will reject him, as the John 15 verses show:
Jhn_3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Joh 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
Jhn_3:19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Jhn_15:18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
Jhn_15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Since when did you become John the Baptist ? Do you believe that's who you are ?
LOL
I never become John, or anyone else.
I did, however, become a new creature, after I repented of sin and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins.
That baptism allowed me to be "raised with Christ to walk in newness of life" ! (Rom 6:4)

Well, you, John the Baptist, his Mother and Father, myself and everyone in the world are born into this world dead in sin and totally depraved. And there is nothing anyone can do about it.

In Jn 3:16-17 absolutely, I know it does !

For God so loved the world elect that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world elect to condemn the world elect, that the world elect through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

So when you read John 3:16-17, this is how you see it?

Thats the elect. God doesnt love anyone else but His Own Elect, and Christ didnt die for anyone but His Sheep which is the same as Gods elect if you didnt know.

Nobody is dead in sin until they commit a sin.
John was born with the gift of the Holy Spirit already in Him, and the Holy Spirit will not live in a polluted temple..

Thanks be to God we don't have to remain dead in sin
Now we can be dead TO sin !

False.

Changing the words of scripture, to fit your own private interpretation is the mark of false teaching.

The "world" refers to the unsaved people of the world.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

I thought you said the elect were saved?
