I was initially led to the king james version by faith. I had accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior and trusted in him. I knew very little about the bible at that time (2012). I asked God "which Bible?" There are so many. The spirit of truth helped guide me to the truth. Leading me to the KJV as the one I wanted to invest my time in.
So in early 2013 I picked it up and dedicated myself to it. I read it just like a book. Like a technical manual. After reading just a few old testament books, I knew how serious all this was, and that the bible was the one book I had neglected all my life. Over the next month and a half, I would read the whole book, sometimes I spent up to ten hours a day reading it (mostly old testament).
I learned of characters I never knew existed before, Abraham, Solomon, and many more. Before reading the bible, I did not know what a "covenant" was.
The sheer technical mastery sets the KJV apart from any other book, to me anyways. After I read it, I began noticing how the other bibles were altering verses here and there. The more I looked into this, the more it pointed to the KJV 1611 authorized version being the infallible word of God.
There are a great many websites out there that will explain to you why they think the KJV, is a perfect translation. Far too much info to list in this thread.

I think its unfair for people to be called "KJVonlyers" or whatever. From where I'm standing, there is no other bibles. Go back to my thread about comparing Jesus to digital data. I explain why the words of Jesus in the KJV are the absolute truth.
It seems to me the NIV is the most popular non KJV bible. Upon researching the difference of the NIV to KJV I have discovered many odd facts about the NIV.
Did you know the NIV is owned by a company named Harper Collins? The Authorized version KJV 1611 has no copy right. That means anyone can publish it, and NO ONE can own it. Harper Collins also publishes the Anton Laveigh Satanic bible, and a book called the joy of gay sex. Note the price of the satanic bible, 9.99. Which is what upside down? As the end days march on the devil is making it more and more obvious.

News corp....as in 21st century Fox........as in Fox news. All owned by Rupert Murchoch, a man (is he really just a man?) .
Those websites listed above will give you a ton of reasons why the KJV is the official word of God.
But remember that Jesus is like the 1 of digital data? The truth and life VS the Devil which is like the 0 of digital data, the lie and death.

2 Corinthians 6:14
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
Would God allow the actual word to be beside the satanic bible and books about gay sex?
What about perverting the words? Taking away words and adding words?
Lets look at the end of the book of revelation which is the end of the bible.
Revelation 22:18-20 "
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
Those are the last words of the bible as you finish it. Clearly a warning is given that no one should change the words of that book, else suffer the plagues in that book!
So I wonder something.............perhaps the devil had to make his own bibles, in order for him to use the media, linked with his perverted bibles.
The other day I watched Fox n friends and they had a military choir singing "God bless America".....and 5 minutes later? A segment about a childrens movie called "How to train your dragon 2". And I thought about that, the bible gives the name dragon as another name for the devil. Doesn't the bible say the devil is not our friend?
1 Peter 5:8
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"
So many say that it doesn't matter what bible you use. I didn't notice any of the KJV defenders list this so here goes.
In the bible there was a man with a demon possessed son, it said the son had a dumb spirit which sought to throw the child in the fire and water, to destroy him. Cause thats what devils do, they try to drive you to death. This man brought his son to the disciples and asked for help, they were unable to cast the devil out of the son, so the man brought the demon possessed son directly to Jesus. Jesus cast him out. Afterwards, the disciples privately went to Jesus and asked him why could they not cast out the demon. Your reply is Mark 9:29
Mark 9:29 (KJV) "And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting."
Mark 9:29 (NIV) "He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer."
Mark 9:29 (ESV) "And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer"
See that? Why did the NIV and ESV remove the word fasting? I think because Jesus is telling you that only by fasting can you get rid of some devils (demons)
What did Jesus do after he got baptized by John the baptist? The bible says the spirit led him into the wilderness where there he FASTED for 40 days. There he was tempted by the devil and did not give into him.
Imagine this...a 40 day fast or abstinence would break you from any addiction. Drugs, porn, gambling, etc. Who said fasting only involved food?
How many Americans, who call themselves christians, have actually fasted and broken the addiction of their vices?
IMO Satan is protecting his own interest with the other bibles. Not only are they perversions and imperfections without the guidance of the holy ghost (which is perfection), they actually strengthen the kingdom of Satan by spreading confusion.
1 Corinthians 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
Mathew 12:26 "And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?"
