If it is not done by Grace through Faith (in Christ and Him Crucified) it is law. No other way can you please and live for God that allows the Holy Spirit to work in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Rom. 8:2 KJV, Phil. 2:13 KJV, Gal. 2:18, 21 KJV, Gal. 5:4 KJV, 1 Cor. 1:17-31 KJV)
Cain did come to the Altar (type of the Cross), however, God rejected his (work) religious activity. In Exodus 32, the people of God believed in Jehovah by building a Altar (type of the Cross), however, they built a golden calf next to it. And God rejected their (work) offering.
Please stop adding your own words to scripture, and read and discuss what the scriptures say.
God is pleased with our obedience that comes from and is inspired by, Him; by His Spirit.
This is called the obedience of faith.
This is the law, or principle of faith.
By faith means God spoke to someone and they obeyed Him.
Grace is the means, the power, the God given ability, given to us to accomplish what He inspires us to do.
Again this is how Jesus lived out His life on earth, leaving us an example of how we are to live our lives in Him.
He did what He saw His Father do, and said what He heard His Father say.
This is being led by the Spirit.
This is how we as sons of God are to live our lives.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14
You have been misled into thinking the Christian does nothing at all, but only imagines Jesus and Him crucified or anything else is the work of the flesh.
No one lives the Christian life, apart from His grace.
Whether we give to the poor, or lay hands on the sick and they recover, it’s all accomplished through us by the Spirit.
