Bible Study Why would the Apostle Paul say such a thing?

Yes. And I gave the scriptures that show it is us expressing the righteous actions of the Spirit, by His power.

Let me repeat!!!!!!!

99.9999% believe as you do that Grace flows without Faith in Christ and His Finished Work at Calvary Cross where the victory was won, i.e., "The Blood of Jesus."

Until the Church returns to faith in the Cross alone, there will be no repentance granted, for repentance can only take place as one acknowledges the Truth (2 Timothy 2:24-26), which is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified."

OK. Time for disciplinary action publicly since you have lied and misrepresented me publicly.

I have been a very vocal proponent of faith in Christ, as well as believing and therefore obeying the Gospel.

I also believe we who have confessed Jesus as Lord must continue to obey Him as Lord.

Obeying the Lord Jesus is taught throughout the New Testament and is the PROOF that a person has faith from/in Jesus Christ.

You have called this obedience of faith a "work of the flesh" .

I patiently have explained with scripture that the works of the flesh is sin and is descibed plainly in Galatians 5:19-21, which I quoted.

HERE’S THE WARNING!

If you misrepresent me by saying I teach or believe we don’t have to have faith in Christ or that grace flows without faith in Christ, you will be removed from the thread.

If you continue to misrepresent me after this action you will restricted in your access to this forum.

I hope this is clear.

Apostle Paul said, "We preach Christ Crucified (1 Cor. 1:23). He also said, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified (1 Cor. 2:2).
Gotta keep the faith..........

YLT]
Rom 3:22 and the righteousness of God is through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, -- for there is no difference,

Gal 3:22 but the Writing did shut up the whole under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ may be given to those believing.

Rev 14:12 Here is endurance of the saints: here are those keeping the commands of God, and the faith of Jesus.'

Continuing in the faith is a core message of mine.

I like how the YLT translates Romans 3:22, as opposed to other translations, even the NKJV.

even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
Romans 3:22 NKJV

The faith “of” or from Jesus Christ is more correct.

Keeping the commandments of God is keeping the faith.

The Lord said, if you Love me then you will keep my commandments. This is a basic tenet of relationship with our Lord.

We all must be careful to remember that our relationship with our Lord meas obedience. And our relationship is not an up and down relationship between us and our Lord, but rather an up & down and to & fro.

We Love our Lord and are humble and kind and loving to Him. But in His succinct summary of commandments down to two to us, we see that the Lord wants us to treat other people just like we are to the Lord Himself. Love God with all of our heart mind and strength...and now go treat all others just like that. LOve your neighbor as yourself. That makes it up/down/to/fro. So that the Lord can bless others through us. A river of life shall flow through us.

This means that anytime I am blessed from God, I am to give it away. Freely I have been given, so I freely give. If a man say he loves God but hates a brother then he is a liar. So even if good deeds are kind of sorta works, at the same time it's so much more than that. It's the obedience. Showing obedience to the Lord is a sign that we love Him.

Yes. I agree.

However, he believes this the work of the flesh.

now the works of the flesh are made manifest... but the fruit of the HOLY Spirit is. how does on bear fruit? it seems that one must Allow the Spirit to work within you and seek the Lord to be transformed daily.

And how do we do that?
allowing God and not resist when God tells us what to change. God makes no one want Him nor serve him. unless you deny any free will (which not even the reformed say that) the reformed pastor of mine doesnt teach we should think there is no part we are to do. in fact he and the elder who has led many to christ have asked and will create and evangilism explosion team that will simply hand out tracts, preach simple messages and also pray for those that want to pray and its all based on the simple .

go ye therefore into all nations and make disciplies of all men and baptize them in the Name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost. a command. that is for every one. it is seperate from the office of that type.

The answer is: By Grace through Faith (in Christ and Him Crucified) - Romans 8:2
that isnt what i said. that is how God works but again you have demonstrated that you clearly dont have the mindset to show us how we are to obey what God asks.

grace is the ability to do what God asks, and faith the the means to which He will listen any prayer.

i nor the others are denying that fact, what we are saying one has to WANT, SEEK, Desire , HUNGER for the things that GOD wants us to do. This isnt to be saved but because WE after Repentance want to PLEASE God and its taught that IF you are HIS, in you will there will be found faithfulness, those things mentioned about in the fruits of the SPIRIT, that doesnt mean we are perfect and wont fall short. is it a sin to ask God for the ability to be less angry, short of temper? to ask God to help us forgive those we cant, to Love our enemies. to also be more mild mannered(temperate) to have grace, i personally knew a 90 year old lady who passed and was known for Her words of encouragement and grace , she was known to have nice thing to say about anyone and encouraged every one and also when needed she also was known to speak her mind.

to me that is example of How God is. i may not be like that lady but i can seek God for me to more graceful towards all and to uplift others. i can ask God what he wants me to repent of, and also where i can be of use for the kingdom.

why do you persist in calling that worked based when most churches i know on the arminist/calvinist spectrum teach that this is the way we should do things? do you really think God doesnt actually lead us to pray and inclines our minds to do His will? i do. but again doesnt need us, but He wants us to be a part of His plan of redemption. He uses the weak and foolish to confound the world. the dispiples werent not much to look at and only Paul was educated and all of them were able to turn the Roman and the areas where they want upside down.

rest in peace alma lee loy. i think i will do that as your church has mentioned because of covid the funeral is delayed. you have touched me and introduced me into local history of sexton and his jungle. the love for riomar and others . the recollection of the past through your eyes i will miss.

The answer again is: By Grace through Faith (in Christ and Him Crucified) - Romans 8:2
Remember, this is a act of Faith and not a act of labor.

The Believer can’t add religious activities, Christian disciplines, or any other type of works (law) to the Cross. Gal. 2:21

no one implies we could but you can't choose not to change .

I,don't have to,witnesses,I'm not forced by God to attend, read the bible ,love ,or bear fruit.you automatically assume that when any one mentions the things we ought to do that it implies we have the power ,the ability to on our own.

no one has said we can be good without God .

How can obeying Christ or being led by the Spirit, be a work of the law, when the scriptures say otherwise?

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Galatians 5:18

We are saying to obey Jesus Christ who dwells within us who motivates and inspires us to love our neighbor through expressions of faith, such as giving food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, water to the thirsty, comfort to the lonely or any other acts of love the Lord leads us to do.

Why would you say this is a work of the flesh, if we are obeying Jesus Christ?

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:14-17

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6

I think what it comes down to is, our works must be done out of the love of our heart unto the Lord and unto our neighbor. That is obedience and not works.

If the good works are done for any other reason, to follow the law for instance then these would be unprofitable works. Just Love God with all your heart and Love your neighbor out of Christs Love within you.

How can obeying Christ or being led by the Spirit, be a work of the law, when the scriptures say otherwise?
If it is not done by Grace through Faith (in Christ and Him Crucified) it is law. No other way can you please and live for God that allows the Holy Spirit to work in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Rom. 8:2 KJV, Phil. 2:13 KJV, Gal. 2:18, 21 KJV, Gal. 5:4 KJV, 1 Cor. 1:17-31 KJV)

Cain did come to the Altar (type of the Cross), however, God rejected his (work) religious activity. In Exodus 32, the people of God believed in Jehovah by building a Altar (type of the Cross), however, they built a golden calf next to it. And God rejected their (work) offering.

Please stop adding your own words to scripture, and read and discuss what the scriptures say.

God is pleased with our obedience that comes from and is inspired by, Him; by His Spirit.

This is called the obedience of faith.

This is the law, or principle of faith.

By faith means God spoke to someone and they obeyed Him.

Grace is the means, the power, the God given ability, given to us to accomplish what He inspires us to do.

Again this is how Jesus lived out His life on earth, leaving us an example of how we are to live our lives in Him.

He did what He saw His Father do, and said what He heard His Father say.

This is being led by the Spirit.

This is how we as sons of God are to live our lives.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

You have been misled into thinking the Christian does nothing at all, but only imagines Jesus and Him crucified or anything else is the work of the flesh.

No one lives the Christian life, apart from His grace.

Whether we give to the poor, or lay hands on the sick and they recover, it’s all accomplished through us by the Spirit.

If this is working out for you how you live for the Lord through sanctification, continue doing it.
