Will the False prophet be Judas Iscariot resurrected?

This is no new view by means and has been suggested for years. I don't believe anyone can be dogmatic concerning it either way. I have leaned in the past more to no, it won't be Judas. But of late I find myself leaning more toward the possibility that it may be.

Judas and the False Prophet are the only two ever called the 'son of perdition'. (John 17:12) (2 Thess. 2:3)

We are told that Judas went to his 'own place'. (Acts 1:25) What would be the purpose of that information and why does he get to go to his 'own place'? Where is that place?

In (John 6:70-71) Judas is called a devil by Christ. "Remarkable expression...It is not 'hath', but 'is a devil'; not only the tool but the temple of Satan." (A Commentary, Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown, Vol. III, Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1990, p.392)

It does sound strange to have a resurrected Judas, yet should it? After all, most accept the view that the two witnesses in (Revelation 11) are possibly Moses and Elijah. And Moses and Elijah were present on the Mount of Transfiguration with Christ. (Matt. 17:3) God could raise a Judas just like He could a Moses. Couldn't He?

And are not all the wicked going to be resurrected one day?

I think it is interesting. But, nothing to go to war over.

You can only speculate that of John 17:12 that Jesus was speaking about Judas Iscariot as according to 1 John 2:19 many went out from them as not all belonged to Jesus.

Act 1:22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
Act 1:23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
Act 1:24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
Act 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Act 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Each disciple was to go to their own place to minister and since Judas fell from the group of twelve another had to take his place.

Judas, just like Moses, Elijah and Enoch are all in their graves waiting till the day of judgement, John 3:13; John 5:28-29

Judas is in a grave, awaiting his final judgement at the return of Christ.

I disagree. I may speculate as to Judas being resurrected and being the false prophet. But that Judas is the son of perdition in (John 17:12) is clear. I've never known anyone to deny it, till now.

I don't see how your presenting the choosing of Matthias by lot, explains the statement concerning Judas that "Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place." (Acts 1:25) I don't believe this is said of anyone else. It is certainly not speaking to the ministry of the 12.

Is Moses in the grave? Well, maybe his body but his spirit/soul are with God. But then maybe, since he was with Elijah, and Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration, God resurrected his body. There was great contention with satan over Moses body. (Jude 9)

Elijah and Enoch's body are certainly not in the grave. They were taken bodily into heaven. (John 5:28-29) does not dispute this. It simply identifies the two resurrections. (John 3:13) is supporting (John 3:3) that man's origin, from heaven, from above, must be right else he cannot see the kingdom.

Are you a JW?

No, I am not a JW.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

No where in that verse does it mention Judas. This is the first time I have ever heard this. How can Judas be the son of perdition when after he sold out Christ he felt remorse, tried to give the money back and was so distressed for his actions that he hung himself. It makes no sense, plus the one who is the son of perdition will be alive at that time as he takes his literal seat in Jerusalem.

Son of perdition also equates as the same definition of an antichrist as there have gone out many from the time of the beginning of generations. The definition of son of perdition is "the one doomed to destruction". 1 John 2:18-19; Acts 1:20-26 is all about replacing Judas, electing Matthias to make it 12 Disciples again.

Where in scripture does it say that Judas opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God, 2 Thessalonians 2:4.

Judas, like everyone else that have died are in their grave waiting for final judgement when Christ returns.

Enoch, Moses, Abraham and Elijah were not taken up to the third Heaven as some teach as when they were seen (not Enoch or Abraham) of Peter, James and John in Matthew 17:1-9 it was only a transfiguration like a vision that they saw Jesus transfigured as was Moses and Elijah. There is no one in the third heaven except God, Jesus and the angels, John 3:13. Everyone that has ever died is asleep in their grave and when Christ returns they will hear His voice as He calls all of them to come forth. They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation, Matthew 24:29-31; John 5:28, 29; 6:40 It is only our spirit/breath/soul that goes back to God who gave it, Genesis 2:7; Ecc 12:7.

There is more detail about Elijah, Moses and Enoch if you would like me to post it as they are all still in their grave.

Show me any commentary that doesn't identify the son of perdition in (John 17:12) as Judas. I would be interested in reading it. If it is not Judas, who is it? It is a person. It is one involved with the 12 disciples. (John 17:12) (John 18:9)

Judas's remorse leading to his suicide means nothing as for his being the son of perdition. He had become indwelt by satan. (Luke 22:3) He was condemned. (Matt. 26:24) (Matt. 27:3) He went to his own place. (Acts 1:25)

Indeed the 'son of perdition' is also the false prophet. Which is why some believe he will be a resurrected Judas.

I do not believe in the 'soul sleep' that you describe. Elijah and Enoch did not die.

First I wish you would get off of the idea I believe in soul sleep as I have said many times I do not as scripture calls it asleep in the grave as I have given many scriptures in the past that say asleep. The scripture I gave about Elijah and Enoch shows they were never taken up to the third heaven where John 3:13 says only God, Jesus and the angels dwell, but I don't expect you to agree with that either.

Judas was a type of son of perdition when Jesus spoke those words, but after they came and took Jesus away and crucified Him was when Judas felt remorse for betraying Him as he did not know Jesus would be beaten and hung on a cross like a common criminal. This is why he tried to give the money back and hung himself. Does that sound like someone who opposed Jesus?

BTW: I very seldom use commentaries unless they line up with the word of God.

What you described is soul sleep. Show me how it is not.

Well, you said this is the first time you have heard of this. The implication is you know what has been said of this. Yet you again say you hardly ever read commentaries. I am asking for those you do use that say that the son of perdition in (John 17:12) is not Judas?

What you say concerning Judas doesn't matter one witt....unless you provide the commentaries that say Judas is not the son of perdition in (John 17:12).

If you cannot, all you are saying is that is 'only' your opinion. Which can only mean, you are oblivious to all commentators in past Christianity. Which means you don't learn from anybody. Just you and God....right?

Commentaries are of man as some are inspired while others are not, but the word of God brings all truth by His Spirit. I search commentaries for scripture alone then take all of them cross referencing the OT with the NT including history for my understanding as you can see in all the teachings the Lord gives me to write. I'm not intelligent to even begin to write anything of my own separate from that which the Holy Spirit reveals to me either directly or through others with a greater understanding. If Jesus came to you unknowing to you that it is He himself you would refute that of what He is trying to teach as you follow a majority rule word of God.

Soul sleep is a belief that the soul rest in the grave until the coming of the Lord, but this is a false teaching taught by JW and Seventh Day Adventist. This is what happens to our soul after this physical body dies.

We are immaterial souls joined to a physical body created by God from the dust of the ground. God breathed His breath/spirit into our nostrils that made this body a living soul. We are made up of three parts being spirit, soul and body that are joined together when we were conceived in our mother's womb.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The body is physical with five senses being sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch that connects with the world.

The soul is the part of the human being that will live on in eternity and with our soul, not our body, is the part of us that is to love God.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

In those two verses it speaks about our soul as being in relationship with God and not this fleshly body. It's our soul and spirit that needs regeneration by God's Spirit.

The life we have here on earth is temporal as our physical bodies will die and return to the dust and be remembered no more.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

1 John 3: 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

The life and the blood is in Jesus who gives our soul eternal life with the Father by that of the blood sacrifice of Christ through God's grace that we are made righteous by the righteousness of God through the Spiritual rebirth. God is not going to reform our physical bodies that have returned to dust, but will raise us from the grave in new glorified bodies that we know not what we will look like.

1Thess 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Thess 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Thess 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

These verses are speaking about all who have physically died that are the Lord's own that what for the resurrection when Christ returns. This is where I get the word "asleep".

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into
perdition.

When you learn who this beast is that Satan works through in the end of days for 3 1/2 years who opposes God and exalts himself above God, which Judas never did, nor did he ever claim to sit in the temple of God, and was, was not, and yet to come, then you will see this beast comes out of mystery Babylon who has always persecuted God's people making martyr's of millions of God's own.

Really? Are you saying your writings are inspired?

That is quite an accusation you make. That I would refute Jesus Christ? Are you saying your words and writings are those of Jesus Christ?

Again, all you did is describe soul sleep. When you die where does your spirit/soul go as a Christian?

Mighty lofty view of your opinion....which you offer no commentaries to support. Just you and God.

I have told you many times I have not kept a record over the last 40 years of all the commentaries I have looked through for the scriptures they give. I do not base my belief on commentaries, but only the word of God.

I can only hope they are inspired by the Holy Spirit teaching me. If I error then the Holy Spirit will bring correction.

My writings are that of what is written in the scriptures plus the history of those days.
Again, all you did is describe soul sleep. When you die where does your spirit/soul go as a Christian?
Genesis 2:7; 3:19; Ecc 12:7

Here dust + breath/spirit from God = a living soul. When the flesh dies physically it returns back to the dust of the ground and our spirit is preserved with God for final judgment.

If you believe Judas claimed what is written in Isaiah 14:12-14; 2Thessalonians 2:1-4 and Rev 17:11 is speaking about Judas then by all means you go ahead and believe that.

Do you believe by a majority rule word of man and all their commentaries, or do you believe the very word of God.

I'm not asking for a record. I'm asking for a quote from one of those 'seldom' commentaries you use that line up with the Word of God, post #(5), that say Judas is not the 'son of perdition' in (John 17:12) Just one would be fine. And be sure to credit the Commentary and Author.

I never said Judas was speaking in (Is. 14:12-14). I said Judas is the 'son of perdition' in (John 17:12) and the only other time that phrase is used is concerning the false prophet that man of sin in (2 Thess. 2:1-4).

I said Judas went to his own place. (Acts 1:25)

I said Judas was called a devil. (John 6:70-71)

I said Judas was fully indwelt by satan. (Luke 22:3)

I said Judas was condemned. (Matt. 26:24) (Matt. 27:3)

Based on these things, I do lean toward the view that the false prophet will be a resurrected Judas. That is what I have said.

I have many books and commentaries. And not all, in fact, most don't agree with, or at least do not put forth that view that Judas will be the false prophet. Which is fine.

But I have no books or commentaries that say the 'son of perdition' in (John 17:12) is not Judas. Nor have I ever heard of any denying it. Till you. Which is why I would like more support for your view than just you.

Of course I believe the Word of God, the Bible. But none of us, even you, though you think otherwise, are an interpreter unto ourselves. We all have our beliefs, concerning the Scripture, influenced by other believers who have gone before us. And we are indebted to them for that.

Only one of the 12 Jesus chose was lost. Its clear to me Jesus was speaking of Judas.

“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

70Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” 71(He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)

Like Esau who was Godless and sold his inheritance for a single meal later couldn't change Gods mind even with tears I believe there in no change of mind for Judas. It would have better if he hadn't been born than to betray Jesus.

This is simplified in my book on Revelation in the sub forum Revelation. Read Chapter 13 as it is to lengthy to post here and you will see who the end of days son pf perdition will be.

You are the first that I have ever heard that Judas is the end of days son of perdition that will reign in Jerusalem for 3 1/2 years.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Judas was a son of perdition as there have been many since the beginning of Babel, but never says he is going to be the end of days son of perdition being the last antichrist described in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Judas was used to fulfill the scriptures that speak about the crucifixion of Christ.

Scripture only names two 'sons of perdition'.

The only resurrection Judas receives will be before the great white throne of judgment as he has been condemned for his own actions. His place will be the 2nd death.
