Yeshua or Jesus ?

The Messiah of Scripture has a real name. It is not Jesus. His real name, the name which we should be pronouncing with our lips, is the name Yahusha. When you call upon the name of the Messiah, be sure to use his real name. Yahusha is his name."

Is not Jesus the same name in the Greek, it is pronounced the say way in Spanish as the Greek. In English we have the hard 'J' sound.
I think Jesus recognizes His name no matter what language a person uses it. After all, God created all the major languages used in the world at the Tower of Babel, which is what I feel like I'm doing right now.....

so Ryan? God speaks Hebrew in heaven? Hebrew being not of the older Chaldean origin and has its origins there? or is it heaven?btw why then does the bible have a greek nt/old testament Hebrew divide to it?

It's Jesus all the way!
I speak english and Jesus is english.

for the record I really don't like the greek translations of the tanach, or the idea that it was used but GOD ordained that to be used. God meets us where we are at. Yes technically Jesus would named Yeshu in Hebrew.

its not a sin, just don't be legalistic about it that is all i am saying.
I got that' but shouldn't a person be called by their real name. Jesus was a Hebrew and He was given a Hebrew name from the Lord to the angels and the name given to his parents.

lewis, God well, i have studied His name. do you really want to understand his name in Hebrew what the vowels mean?
simple translated. the being! that is what his name means in English.yet by oral traditions that name means mercy and grace and God says names to the jews mean things about their character. so which is more important? to know that God is merciful and full of grace or to call him by his name that he gave to the Hebrews?which they don't even know how to pronounce. the wouldn't call him God, but G-d or the Heshem. the Heshem means simply Lord as in master. its really not what he wants to be known by. yes God is a Lord but not as a slave-lord relationship but as a Father -son or Father-daughter relationship. He wants to revere him yes but to love him as a child does with his dad, with awe and adoration, and well like we boys did with our dads.Did we not think our dad was our hero? i did at one time? did we not try to be like him? i have that influence on Nathan times.so why not see the Name of our God whom died for us that way.

my thing is' it a personal choice, I would use it more, but a lot of people don't know who you are talking about. And you would have to stop and explain it every few seconds. And also I think that last link I posted up there gives a good breakdown, of His name.

ok, so what about this? since my grandson's name is actually Joshua. which i said to him in Hebrew is Yahoshua.does that mean his name is the same as the lords as both mean Yah saves?

I was quoting and highlighted from that article. Jesus was most certainly called Yeshua back in the day, and will be called Yeshua when the pure language is restored, Zephaniah 3:9. But in the meantime, some teachers teach like in the link provided that using anything but Yeshua is questionable. Which I disagree with.

I believe the NT was written in the Hebrew/Aramaic language initially. Not something I am gonna argue about, but when you consider all the writers were Jews, they most likely recorded God's Word in that language.

Hebrews 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Genesis 1:3 Then God said, “Let there be lightâ€; and there was light.

Ever since I decided to study more seriously the scriptures from the language God breathed life into existence, I am more and more in awe of God everyday.

yesm but remember god choose Abraham because he simply wanted too. Abrahams language wasn't Hebrew but a Chaldean tounge. aramiac and Hebrew and Arabic are close and cousins.as isreal went along the Hebrews developed their language. but had it been an Egyptian we would be calling God the Egyptian name he said he would be to them. that is my point.

Hebrew didn't exist in Abraham's day. Abraham was from ur which is in Iraq and also a Chaldean predecessor to the Babylonian kingdom!

It kind of seems a vanity to think we know Jesus' real name.

Rev 19:12 - His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Fortunately the Shepard knows His sheep, even if His sheep argue over what form of 'baaaa' constitutes the Shepard's real name.:distorted

I agree.
