I think you'll find a fair number of the Psalms are "me centered", I used to read them a lot when extremely depressed

King David did say "I will awaken the dawn" when he was being pursued. But even David, although even fearful at times, always turned his feelings and everything back toward God. God got the glory, no?

I don't feel (personally) that contemporary christian music glorifies god, but glorifies self and self's troubles, you know? I think many of the songs make it about self and not God. Just my opinion though.

I was in a different mood when I wrote that post, so take with a grain of salt.

My new favorite secular song on the YouTube version is " A Brimful of Asher". It's a fun song to listen to and the accompanying video.....fun too. I also like most shuffle dancing videos.
