Your Official Easter Countdown

Because we on lockdown can only get beer and wine as liquor stores are closed, and someone tried to start a partition to be allowed to get liquor for Easter for those who don't drink beer or wine.

I said Easter is not about alcohol so I will not be signing. No way am i going to use the death and resurrection of Jesus as an excuse to try be allowed to purchase hard liquor, even I could go a nice whiskey, but definitely not on that excuse.

Heard of something rather interesting recently. There is a movement that is suggesting that we Christians should put a red ribbon on our door post on Passover, in the spirit of painting the doorposts with lambs blood. Thoughts on this?

I like it Knotical
Are you going to do it?

Sorry I don't know what you mean
To put something on your doorpost it is making a statement to anyone who may see it, but if your front door is not very noticeable from the street not many people will be able to see it. Of course, God will be able to see it, but then He is actually not commanding us to do so, as He did with the Israelites. So, I would just have to consider what the real purpose is.

Thanks and i agree, now that you made me think more.

I socially isolate by nature, but even I am getting a little bored. Someone on this board told me that Easter was a pagan holiday and so I am now calling this Resurrection Sunday and Easter.

Group worship is important, but some people depend on it to much. Because I am controversial person by nature I think some people depend too much on the Bible too much as well. [Did I just say that?]

What I mean is spelled out in the book, Surprised by Joy. The author, Sue Monk Kidd, was a ministers wife who kept busy taking care of the church and worship service. This led to depression so she turned to meditation to get a closer union with God. This books explains the process she went through surrendering her need to keep busy with quiet solitude.

If you are home-bound right now, this allows you to spend more time alone with God. Talking, listening, praying, imagining etc. I do this every day and it fills me with joy.

What I remember best about Easter was when I was a kid and they had the annual Easter parade. My mother made my sisters and I fancy dresses with bonnets to match. We always won first prize.

I hope Resurrection day and Easter brings joy into your life.
