Youth - Not reading the Bible enough

Maybe the young ones are not used to read the Bible from a young enough age anymore.
Jews go to Talmud Torah classes sometimes from age two! We also have Simchat Torah which basically is a holiday during which you have to study the Torah. My point is, when we're very young, our parents make it fun for us to read the Torah and growing up, it only seems natural to keep on doing it, it is always fun and enlightening to read the Texts. I myself do not read it everyday but I regularly take some time to get into it and think about it. and when I find mysself feeling down or sad, reading the Torah always makes me feel better.
Maybe the youth does not see the fun in it anymore? I don't know, I'm just wondering here...

This is going to get me in trouble but...I blame the parents. Too many parents now days replace books, quality time before...after...and during meals, outside play, and the like with television as well as video games. The media is bringing up today's youth. Not the adults which bear and are supposed to raise them. Know this is not the case with all, but it is a growing trend.

I do agree with you. There was that kid I used to babysit and she wouldn't eat unless in front of the tv and you had to threaten her to turn it off sometimes to feed her. She was only two and her parents let her go to bed at 10pm!! I was so shocked by that attitude. even my seven-year-old niece goes to bed at 8pm. Parents work more and more and leave their kids at home, they don't really pay attention to what their kids are watching on tv or anything, I was brought up without a cable tv and I thank my mother for that.
Whatever happened to the want/need to learn, going play outside with friends,... ?
As follower of Christ said, it's often the parents' fault.
