I don't know where I stand as far as the rapture yet....

But, how is ithe world going to explain the rapture and millions of disappearing people? They say there are 2.2 billion Christians or something right? I personally feel that from that number maybe 25% are true believers. (Many claim to be Christians, but if that number was true the fruit would prove it) Anyways, it's still a significant % of the world's population that goes missing. How could it possibly be explained??

If we were atheists who knew nothing of the rapture and it happened yesterday, what could the media possibly say to get us to believe? I know I'd want some pretty hard evidence and understanding. I'm not going to be one of those who thinks it was aliens...

Theories?

They wont have to explain what doesnt happen.
There is no pre trib rapture.Only a post trib gathering at the end of the world.

kinda pointless to gather us and come right back to the earth to reign for a thousand yrs.

but my idea would be that a disease killed them and that the rest of the world would have to be quarentined in some of the larger area.

i dont think that we will be like jesus in that rising to heaven but rather die and leave the body.

Re: How will the world explain the rapture? A. It will never have to

Alas, there will never be a rapture. Most people who know how it got its start in the 1800s don't believe in it. And, correctly so. It doesn't have any legitimate scripture support and as more people find out about its beginnings it is losing ground with American Christians all the time.

Thanks theLords,

Agreed, and that’s a great question.

Rev. 8: 7-12 may document an intercontinental nuclear exchange, engineered to explain (propagandize) the sudden dematerialization of a billion or more persons. Here’s a possible scenario:

Daniel’s “prince that shall come (Dan. 9: 26)†arises and Daniel’s 70th week begins. At first, the Prince advocates global economic cooperation in the name of stable international relations. His subtle assurance appears to foster world stability.

However, in the midst of the 70th week, the Prince facilitates the desecration of Israel’s Temple Mount, and nuclear hostility, in conjunction with the Rapture (Pre-Wrath view), leaving the suffering and confused survivors to face the evil world system outlined in Rev. 13: 16-17.

oh my! lo and behold you can actually find the answers to every question you have in the Bible.

thanks David! in all my life and in all my eschatological studies i've never seen this explained before.

Wow, the Lord is so smart, He thought of everything. I'm going to enjoy picking His brain in Heaven.

The problem with your question is th premiss. The rapture takes place on the very last day, the day Jesus returns at the end of the tribultion, and then we return with Christ as soon as we meet Him in the air. By that time most believers will have been martyred so the % is even smaller than you expect. There will be much more going on on the day of Christ return other than the rapture. I don't think the wicked who will at that time will be being destroyed by Christ Himself will even notice who has or has not been raptured.

kinda pointless to gather us and come right back to the earth to reign for a thousand yrs.
Pointless???? The point is to receie our immortal, perfected resurrected bodies, so that we can reign with Christ for the 1,000 year millennium. So to dismiss it as pointless is in a word pointless.

that's why i stated "i don't know where i stand on the rapture yet" before saying anything else.

i suppose this question is geared more towards the pre-tribbers. it's simply something i've always wondered about :shrug

why not die then just resurrect then and there?

why not even die at all just are transformed instantly. the millenial reign the bodies do die. and we must be in heaven as it says that we will reign with christ on the earth and also mentioned that the saints that died were part of first resurection and also those beheaded reign with christ.

The rapture will happen moments before the second coming of the Messah Jesus. No need to expain anything, When the last trumpet is sounded the truth of the matter will become clear to all.

kinda pointless to gather us and come right back to the earth to reign for a thousand yrs.

In biblical times (and in some places still today, from what I've heard) there were elders in every city. Their job was to sit at the city gates and keep track of who went in and out - a kind of border gaurd, if you will. When someone suspicious came along, they would tell him to keep moving. But when some special guest would come to the city, royalty for example, they would leave their post at the gate and go out to meet him, then escort him into the city. The farther out they went, the more honor they showed him.

We are the "elders" of the earth. When Jesus comes, we will go out to meet Him and escort Him back to earth, where He will take His rightful place as King. So, it's not pointless at all, unless you think recognizing Christ as king and showing Him the honor due Him is pointless.

Yes well said. We are going up to meet Him on the day of His arrival.

why not die then just resurrect then and there?
The dead will be resurrected

why not even die at all just are transformed instantly.
Those that live through the Trib will be transformed instantly
the millenial reign the bodies do die.
Those that have been resurrected, and raptured into their immortal bodies will not die.

and we must be in heaven as it says that we will reign with christ on the earth
We riegn with Christ on Earth from Earth

and also mentioned that the saints that died were part of first resurection and also those beheaded reign with christ.
Yes they are, whats your point?

only they rule!

it says that plainly. only those beheaded for christ will reign with him. the others are resurected after the millenial reign.

a preterist(partial) arguement.

Nope. I'm not a preterist. This is just my understanding of what will happen.

i can see how you come to that. as that verse does say that.

heres the problem. the lord would have to stop the ac first, when is the anti-christ slain. i think he is slain when jerusalem is deliverd from the battle at har-meggido.
