We are stoll on lockdown in UK.
So many lost their jobs, businesses, a few churches open but not many people allowed in. Chemust, food shops are open all our non essential shops still closed. The doctors near me have all been closed for over 12 months now. People are becoming very depressed.
There is an end to everything even this

In New York, they challenged the closure of non-essential businesses and won in court.
Now they are open to do business.
Australia is lucky. Lucky to be a distant continent from Europe and America. Our isolation is our advantage.
Yes our leaders made good decisions but above all , luck and geography played the biggest part.
I'm sorry to other parts of the world suffering.
But I thought these vaccinations were working...no ??

Going down slowly but consistent now.
People are getting tired of it
Some are breaking the rules and police having to break up large house parties
Well, that's because you live near all the marshmellow people.

i hate the beach,gee I wonder why.
i wouldn't be to snowbirds ,cookie cutter homes,and destruction of pioneer history

no.my beach area was very Erie,ocean drive a business district with hotels and tourism was quiet last year for a month .I walk both ends on routes .I,normally have to evade dogs ,try to be as less intrusive on the outdoor restaurants open at 6 am .the bikinis ,well lol

I've been purposefully staying away from the news lately. What's going on with Italy that they would have a surge like that? Is there a new strain? Are they getting people vaccinated?

wondering is away from the cities and so she is fine.
I don't know the details, I've had so many things going on lately that it's hard to keep up with things.
Just that yesterday's headlines continue to talk about this lockdown.
He's too busy trying to get his hair to look just right....
There are two new strains in the UK.
Italy has to do what the EU wants...there is no more sovereignty for EU countries.
We can't print money either which causes lots of problems.
Italy is running on color coding.
WHITE
YELLOW
ORANGE
RED
The only region that is white (normal) is Sardegna.
It's an island and will only let in persons that get tested/have been vaccinated.
Tuscany is Orange.
Restaurants and bars (cafes) are open only for take out orders.
Shopping malls are closed on the weekends.
We cannot leave our town of residency unless for work/health/emergencies.
Elementary and middle schools are open.
High schools are working on a "two-tier" system (hybrid?).
My granddaughter goes to high school every other day and does alternating days on the internet with her class.
We're not supposed to go visit friends...but who's paying any attention to that!
All regions must wear masks, sanitize hands going in and out of places and all public places take your temperature,
& we must maintain distance of at least one meter.
No gathering of groups.
There are big fines for those found breaking the rules in Italy in general.
On April 3 to 5 ALL ITALY will be red.
Nice. We can't even celebrate Easter properly.
Churches are open but with extreme distancing....some require appointments.
I'm up in a mountain area and am very lucky to be here.
Hardly anyone got sick with Covid although there were some cases.
The police tend to be friendly and let some things go and are not very strict.
It seems like this is the best place to be.
Up North there are lots of problems...for different reasons. Seems like they brought it back
from China, but this might be speculation.
Everyone in my family, both here and in the states, has been good.
