Yes, as a vaccinated person, I am at very low risk of severe illness and death. But I am not at low risk of getting infected, and then infecting others. And the more people that get infected, the more likely it will be that a variant will emerge that will defeat the vaccine that I have received.

Okay. We have been thinking of moving out of the country for a couple of years now. Between lousy healthcare and the state of things, we're just not happy with the US currently.

I don't know how I can possibly be any clearer....

The vaccines have just rolled out within the last 6 months... give or take a few months...
for the majority of people... they started with the elderly and worked down age brackets from there.
My daughter is just now fully vaccinated... within the last month.
NO one has even had a shot for a year yet... which would be the MINIMUM of testing time required to
prove the validity or effectiveness of something.

TESTING the effectiveness of things takes TIME. People seem to be rejecting this truth suddenly.

The truth of the matter is... this is a new combination of drugs being used on people. Time will tell if
the vaccine was effective or not. It's really simple in my mind.

You are assuming that I am placing others at risk... This is what I have an issue with.... as well as the blanket statement that covid is spreading due to the UNVACCINATED.

I wear a mask... I keep my distance from others... and I don't take part in large gatherings...
Therefore your opinion ( which is such a lovely thing because we all have them )... is FALSE in my estimation.

Been there, done that.

It's hard. Legally, the easiest way is to get a temp job in Canada and to have some kind of professional job skills (like IT). Getting a temporary work permit is easy, so long as you have skills. If you want to bump up to a full-time job, you have to apply for permanent residency, and that is harder. Don't worry about not having insurance because you're a temp: Canada health insurance is socialized, so everybody has it. If you're temporarily working, then you're temporarily eligible.

The hardest part is moving everything you have and leaving everyone you know.

Of course, if you're not liking the U.S. because you don't like feeling pressured over a vaccine, Canada will mandate one long before the U.S. does. You have no vote in the way they do things--you are not a citizen.

As of Saturday the 7th of August, 43% of the population has been fully vaccinated in my county.
Mostly the elderly and plenty of them.
We are a Florida county community for the retirees.
So it seems most people don't want to be vaccinated.

Actually, the vaccine to date has shown to be extremely effective at both preventing Covid infection and keeping those with breakthrough cases from being hospitalized.

Speaking only for Pfizer and Moderna, it’s not really a new combination of drugs. Both lean on MRNA instead of the traditional vaccines that use a strain of the live virus.

MRNA has been around for many years in the Cancer field. It hasn’t made it through the FDA though because of funding for research. Due to the funding through Covid, they have just started their first trial on patients with cancer and it looks very promising. Imagine if we can treat cancer and eliminate it.

More to what I think your saying though. Your saying that we don’t have enough research on MRNA. That’s a fair point. There is much we don’t know, and time will be the ultimate judge. What I would say though is this. We know enough about MRNA that it’s fairly safe to say it’s predictable with how it’s being used against Covid.

When did I ever say make a blanket statement that covid is spreading due to the unvaccinated? They are playing a big role - and with no need to do so since there is a vaccine - but there are other factors at play as well.
