Corinthians 7 does not support your point of view. Please check it out again.Hi MykeAkin and welcome to CF. That is quite the first posting.
Sorry, but even though I did not watch the video no man can force himself on his wife if there is no equal consent as it's domestic violence and sexual abuse. Here in America marital rape in all fifty states is illegal.
1Corinthians 7:3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Corinthians 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Corinthians 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
No.
I guess we see differently. I see those verses as saying it needs to be mutual consent as a man should never force himself on a woman and a woman, unless there is a valid reason, should never refuse her husband.Corinthians 7 does not support your point of view. Please check it out again.
It says the opposite.I guess we see differently. I see those verses as saying it needs to be mutual consent as a man should never force himself on a woman and a woman, unless there is a valid reason, should never refuse her husband.
In this case it's illegal.Marital rape is illegal in all states as another poster pointed out. Here where I live the cases that make the papers usually involve separated but still legally married couples.
Many women fear their husbands like I did, but yet stay with them. In my case it was God that made away for me to escape where there was no way.It says the opposite.
It says a womans' body belongs to the man and V V.
But I will not belabor the point.
This is a question that has always intrigued me, however.
I'll only say that if a wife hates her husband to the point of believing he could rape her, maybe she shouldn't be living with him?
Well then, thanks be to God.Many women fear their husbands like I did, but yet stay with them. In my case it was God that made away for me to escape where there was no way.
Are you really saying that 1 Corinthians supports rape?? There must be some misunderstanding here.Corinthians 7 does not support your point of view. Please check it out again.
Are you serious??Are you really saying that 1 Corinthians supports rape?? There must be some misunderstanding here.
This has absolutely nothing to do with rape. The dictionary definition of rape is "the crime, typically committed by a man, of forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with the offender against their will.
Gosh Jaybo. Don't you know me yet? This has absolutely nothing to do with rape. The dictionary definition of rape is "the crime, typically committed by a man, of forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with the offender against their will.
Do you honestly believe that God promotes violent crime or are you just trying to be funny?
I guess I don't know you that well yet, as I couldn't imagine your posting anything positive relating to rape. My sincere apology.Gosh Jaybo. Don't you know me yet?
This is regarding a convo with another member
Whom I believe is misunderstanding Cor 7.
Frankly, I don't understand how a husband could rape a wife. Cor 7 was brought up as support but I don't think it IS support.
Of course.I guess I don't know you that well yet, as I couldn't imagine your posting anything positive relating to rape. My sincere apology.
Not only "Cor 7" but the entire Bible, plus Christian thought, couldn't possibly support rape.
