Just saw something interesting. A recent Gallup poll is showing that 71% of respondents now say homosexuality is morally acceptable, with only 28% saying it is not. That amounts to a 30% jump in those who favor it (up from 40% to 70%) in just two decades.

If this is the case, and if that's how quickly public opinion is changing, we should assume that Western society will be approaching almost universal acceptance within just the next 20 years. I wonder how many Christians will still stand for what the word of God actually teaches on the subject by 2040.

Not many at this rate though a 100 % acceptance is impossible but 80 % is more than enough it wouldn't matter because by that point it would be as accepted and normal is computers are now.

I'm did my reply come off as uncivil ? I apologize that was not my intention I simply pointed out that acceptance of LGBT community will be the position of a vast majority of people so much so that people who hold the opposite position will be rare based on current data.

Many want to be politically correct and the Bible will never be socially acceptable.

The link works,

but word of warning to all let's keep the replies civil as there will be opposition.

Yeah, and I think that will become an increasingly important part of the conflict. The whole accusation coming from the Left will be that everything coming from the Right is generated by "hate." In reality, I think that's the REAL purpose behind the entire agenda. I don't think the powers that be truly care about the LGBQ community at all. I think they simply want to use the matter to demonize Christians and silence them from expressing their religious beliefs. It's not a "defense" of anyone, it's an attack on Christianity, which is why it will be all the more important to prove that their accusations are actually a lie.

"Politically correct" is an emotional term with little meaning. The Bible has been the basis of the Judeo-Christian world for thousands of years. I would call that socially acceptable, no matter what parameters are used.

If the word of God was socially acceptable by all of society then Jesus would have died in vain as everyone would be obedient to all His commands.

Being politically correct is a worldly majority rule as not to offend another's actions that are an abomination to God.
Leviticus 20:10-21; Romans 1:18-32.

Yes, it's not about Christians hating anyone in the LGBT, but to let them know it's an abomination to God, especially those of the LGBT that say they are a Christian, but skip over that part of God's word.

I have cousins and nieces that are gay and I love them very much, but yet they know where I stand on those issues and they do not hate me for that.

Politically correct: avoiding language or behavior that could offend a particular group of people. I have no idea where you got the idea that it is "a worldly majority rule as not to offend another's actions that are an abomination to God." What is the source for this strange definition?

In my Bible, there is a heading for the section in Leviticus you reference, that says "Family Life and Sexual Prohibitions" How you can possibly interpret that as meaning "political correctness" is beyond me.

Likewise, Romans 1:18-32 refers to people who worshiped idols, even though they knew God. God gave them up to their own sinful desires, but there is nothing that even remotely suggests political correctness.

You have "gone off the rails" with your understanding of the term "politically correct". Since you live in South Carolina, it is surprising that you don't have a better understanding of the term. It used to be socially acceptable to use all kinds of derogatory terms for African-Americans; using appropriate terms was labeled "politically correct".

John 3:16-17, "For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him."

I do not see LGBTQs excluded here, so why are you excluding them?

If you refer to Romans 1 again, notice that those people mentioned knew God but rejected Him in favor of idols. That clearly does not apply to LGBTQs, but to atheists and idolaters (who are most often heterosexuals).

Romans 1:18-23, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles."

Here is the full definition of political correctness: conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated.

This is what the LGBT are fighting for to eliminate the hatred of those who cause hate crimes against them, but yet they refuse to acknowledge that what they practice is an abomination to God and they too will have their place in the lake of fire.

How can one be a follow of Christ, but yet reject the parts of His word they do not want to hear. Even God would hope they would turn from their abominations and come back to Him before it's to late. It's not God or Jesus that condemns them, but they have condemned themselves. Look what happened to those in Sodom and Gomorrah leaving the unnatural use in that which is against nature. It's not me, but God that calls it an abomination to Him.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

"This is what the LGBT are fighting for to eliminate the hatred of those who cause hate crimes against them, but yet they refuse to acknowledge that what they practice is an abomination to God and they too will have their place in the lake of fire." is self-contradictory.

Hint: you're not God.

John 3:16-18a, " For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone [including LGBTQs] who believes in him will not perish[al] but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him. The one who believes in him is not condemned."

That's plain and clear (even if you can't accept it).

Polls also consistently show that people wildly overestimate the prevalence of homosexuality, with 25% being a common estimate. Based on my experience of 72 years of living, I believe the entire LGBTQ movement is largely a fad - just as it was trendy (believe it or not) to be a Jesus freak when I was in college, it's now trendy to claim to be somewhere on the LGBTQ(+++blah-blah-blah) spectrum. That being said, I also believe it's a diabolically inspired fad - just another facet of the End Times descent into depravity our society is experiencing.

I've had a couple of gay friends, with their sexuality simply being irrelevant in the context of our friendship. In my first 65 years of living, however, I never met anyone who was even vaguely transgender or otherwise gender-confused, which makes me highly dubious of the reality of that "phenomenon."

The whole LGBTQ thing would scarcely even be on my radar screen if they weren't aggressively seeking to normalize and require me to celebrate their behavior (and, correspondingly, to shout down my Christian values). It would be just another behavior the Bible condemns that I would leave to God to deal with as he sees fit.

The basic issue is that almost all of these modern "movements" are directly contrary to God's plan for humanity - be it no-fault divorce, the acceptance of cohabitation, the feminist movement or the LGBTQ movement. Add them all up and our society is descending deeper and deeper into depravity, to the edge of a complete moral collapse.
