Much of the descension on the forum is because of what is believed about Jesus Christ. What is believed about Jesus Christ will determine where one will spend eternity.

Jesus is a stumbling stone and a rock of offense for those that are practicing a religion. Catholics, Calvinist, Holiness religions all stumble because of the words of Jesus.

Jesus said, "I came not to judge the world, but to save the world" John 12:47.

You cannot be a Catholic, Calvinist, Holiness and believe that Jesus has ALREADY saved the world. To believe that Jesus has already saved the world is to believe that Jesus has already defeated sin, death and the devil and now sits in heaven as, "The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords" Revelation 19:16. To believe this would make their religion worthless. So, they stumble at the words of Jesus.

Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16.

This one scripture teaches that salvation is by grace through faith for everyone, Catholics, Calvinist, holiness, do not believe this scripture. They will usually add something to it because it is just to simple for them. So, they stumble at the words of Jesus.

Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I am" John 8:58.

Jesus is declaring that he is the eternal God. When Jesus said this to the Jews they tried to stone him. Today, the religious just say that the Abraham Jesus was talking about was a different Abraham. So, they stumble at the words of Jesus.

Christians don't stumble at the words of Jesus, they embrace them as truth.

The historical Gospel of Jesus Christ is offensive to the religious. They simply cannot believe that Jesus has reconciled us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. They want to participate in their salvation by works, obedience and predestination. The Gospel is the rock of offense. Jesus said, "Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, didn't we?" Matthew 7:22. They believe that they had something to do with their salvation.

Jesus said a lot things. Do you believe that not all will be saved, that, in fact, most people will not be in heaven at the end of the age?

Not everyone wants to spend eternity with Christ. Not everyone believes his Gospel, nor do they want to believe his Gospel. If you don't love Jesus and you don't want to be with him, you won't have to be with him. God will give everyone what they want, even if they don't really like it.

Jesus said, "Few there be that find it" Matthew 7:14. Few there be that find it, because few there be that seek it. What most have found is religion and Calvinism. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is offensive to many because it is about how Jesus has reconciled us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. The proud religious want to reconcile themselves to God by their works, obedience and religion. Jesus is the savior, not John Calvin.

No one, in the history of Calvinism, has ever said that John Calvin is the saviour. It sure does seem, though, that some think he is the devil, which is equally as false.

Anyone that offers a doctrine that can save you, other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a lying demon.

Paul says they are accursed, but John Calvin didn’t offer a different gospel.

As a Catholic I have no problem with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It's the gospel of Pate that I disbelieve.
You have a lot of problems with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the one that reconciled us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

You think that it is the Catholic church that is going to reconcile you to God.

I do have problems with the gospel of Pate.
Jesus is the one that reconciled us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.
I Agree with that scripture.

You think that it is the Catholic church that is going to reconcile you to God.

If you look at 2 Cor 5:18 you will read that Paul says "All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation" Paul, and others, were given the ministry of reconciliation; of bringing that reconciliation, won by Christ, to people.

That ministry of reconciliation was given the the Church.

No, it isn't. What is the gospel? Please, lay it out clearly and succinctly.
I doubt very much that you will understand it. Your Calvinist God will blind you from the truth.

Jesus is God's new Adam and the representative of the human race.

"For as by one man's disobedience (The Old Adam) many were MADE sinners, so by the obedience of one (Christ) shall many be MADE righteous" Romans 5:19.

Notice that the words MADE are in caps. We are MADE sinners because we are genetically related to him. He is our first Father. We were MADE sinners by a representative.

Jesus is our new Father and our new representative. Jesus in our name and on our behalf, fulfills all of the demands of God's Holy Law. He did this for our justification.

Jesus in our name and on our behalf, atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.

Jesus has reconciled us and the whole world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

When God accepted Jesus back into heaven, we were accepted in him. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus God sees his people as perfect and complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. This Gospel becomes ours by simple child-like faith.

If you have ALREADY been reconciled to God by Jesus Christ, then why do you need the Catholic church?
