Bible Study How Many People Realize Matthew 11:28-30?

Why do we have to remember that we live in this corruptible body that is prone to sin?
I am a redneck from Mississippi.
The resurrection brings the final changes we need to enter heaven. At the last trump we are finally totally changed.

If we teach the resurrection is past people are upset they are not perfect now. Just feel hopeless and undone.

We once were under the dominion of sin. We were without Christ in the world. Now we have the hope of eternal life. We build each other up in our trials. We remind folks of the changes that take place at the last trump.

All these things are found with a simple Bible search engine.

We are not perfect yet. Are we to continue in sin? No. Should our sin grieve us? Yes. Faith in what Jesus did is our faith. Faith in ourselves is not our hope/become faith.

King David sought God. Was he perfect? No.
We live in a better covenant, but we are not yet perfect.

Why do we have to remember that we live in this corruptible body that is prone to sin?
Because there is no such thing as sinless perfection while we still remain on this earth.

1Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Cor 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

This corruptible that is the flesh part of us while still here on earth is where the nature to sin comes from and none of us are perfect, but only be perfected as long as we walk in the Spirit. But, ask yourself and be honest with yourself, do you always walk in the Spirit 24/7? I know I don't always walk in the Spirit, but try the best I can to do so. God knows we will mess up at times, but His grace is sufficient to forgive us when we recognize we messed up and bring it to Him.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Why do we have to remember that we live in this corruptible body that is prone to sin? It seems to me it's impossible for us to forget for the reasons you pointed out: We're prone to fleshliness (which produces sin) and the devil is working always to bring us into bondage to himself (which also produces sin). In my experience, what Christians forget - or don't know at all - are the things I pointed out to Soldiers. For decades, as a believer, I didn't know them myself. But when a child of God understands the enormous importance of constant surrender to Him, the trying, laboring, striving, and warring end and the infinite power, peace, joy and love of God fill and overflow from them instead.

I'd point out, too, that there is no drawing closer to God apart from submission to Him. Too often, though, Christians attempt to "draw close" without yielding themselves as "living sacrifices" to God first and so get a pretty tepid spiritual result. As I pointed out to Soldiers, so long as I neglect to submit to God, I stand as a rebel to Him which quite hamstrings any attempts at drawing close to Him I might attempt.

As Paul wrote to the believers at Rome, "where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" (Romans 5:20). Thank God that we can't sin beyond the limits of His endless grace! But, you know, Paul went on to write the following:

Romans 6:1-2 (NASB)
1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?
2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

Paul didn't remark that the believers at Rome weren't perfect, cutting their sin some slack because it was, after all, inevitable that they should sin. Instead, he sounded puzzled and surprised at the attitude toward sin the believers at Rome had adopted. Rather than constantly relying on God's grace to cover their sin, Paul urged them to understand that they were dead to sin and ought then never to live in it. "May it never be!" he exclaimed, that those who've been made dead to sin by their union with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection should continue in sin.

Many Christians today, though, have taken up the idea that they must reconcile themselves to a walk with God that is mired in sin. They extol His grace, having to take heavy advantage of it every day, but know little of the power of God to liberate them fully from the power of the "old man" and the sin he produces. But listen to Paul:

Romans 6:6-7 (NASB)
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7 for he who has died is freed from sin.

Romans 6:11-12 (NASB)
11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,

Romans 6:14 (NASB)
14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Does Paul sound like he'd settled into a sin-confession-sin-confession cycle, resigned to the idea that his life would always be fouled constantly by sin? Not at all! But when I share this stuff with Christians these days, they look at me like I'm nuts and often grow very defensive as they realize the life Paul described in Romans 6 is nothing like the life they are living. I promote the identification truths of Romans 6, though, not to shame or disturb my brothers and sisters in the Lord, but to help them enter into the normal Christian life that they ought to be enjoying with God.
Read Romans 7:7-25 as even Paul struggled with sin and was not a perfect man, but yet still God's grace was sufficient in his weakness.

Because there is no such thing as sinless perfection while we still remain on this earth.

Right. But this doesn't mean that a person cannot move into a place with God where sin is the exception rather than the rule. In fact, to the degree that a believer's life is holy (or not), to that same degree they "see God" (or not). Many times, though, I hear Christians talking as though they can walk well with God while living lives constantly corrupted by sin. But walking with God and sinning are mutually-exclusive things! You can't do them both simultaneously. (See: Psalms 66:18; Isaiah 59:2; 1 Peter 3:10-12)

This passage is not speaking of the corruption of sin, but of the physical "corruption" of bodies that are not yet glorified and deteriorate over time, finally to die and moulder away in the ground. Paul speaks of mortal putting on immortality, not immorality putting on morality; he speaks of death - not sin - being swallowed up in victory when we are all resurrected to new, glorified, immortal bodies. And he writes all this in the context of the following:

1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (NASB)
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Here, then, is the preface to Paul's remarks about the corruptible putting on incorruption. As you can see, he was speaking about the matter of the Second Coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead into an imperishable - or incorruptible - state.

This corruptible that is the flesh part of us while still here on earth is where the nature to sin comes from and none of us are perfect, but only be perfected as long as we walk in the Spirit. But, ask yourself and be honest with yourself, do you always walk in the Spirit 24/7?

What is this line of thinking intended to accomplish? It sounds to me like an effort to make room for sin, for moral and spiritual failure. Yes, no one is perfect, nor will they ever be this side of the grave, but this is by no means justification for living that fails to move to ever-deeper levels of holiness and communion with God (the two necessarily go together). We cannot be perfect but we can be a great deal less sinful - and consistently so - than we often are.

Read Romans 7:7-25 as even Paul struggled with sin and was not a perfect man, but yet still God's grace was sufficient in his weakness.

Romans 7 was not the last chapter in Paul's letter to the Romans, as you know. He went on in chapter 8 to prescribe the remedy for what he had outlined in chapter 7. Actually, chapter 7 is bracketed on both ends by the very things that prevent the struggle it describes! No born-again person, then, has to live in the defeat and frustration of Romans 7 if they are careful to live in the truths of chapters 6 and 8. Good news, don't you think?

We shore ain’t all thinking tha same.
1Peter 1:23 kjv
23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The parable of the sower (according to Jesus) says: the seed is the word of God.
The Word of God is not corruptible. To fall away is corruption. At the last trump the change stops spiritual corruption and mortal body immortality begins.

In the verse you cite from 1 Peter, the apostle Peter tells us what the incorruptible seed is: the word of God. We don't need to refer to one of Christ's parables to understand Peter's meaning. He says nothing, though, about "falling away is corruption" in the verse above, nor is this implied in it. In any case, the passage from 1 Corinthians 15 is by another author entirely and speaking very plainly of the physical body of believers being resurrected into a glorified condition, as I showed.

Matthew 11:28-30

Jeremiah 31:32-33 kjv
32. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Tenchi in #4 mentions th bondage of the law.

WalterandDebbie mention the warning to Israel in #6

I am just trying to help us all see the gift of rest a little better.

Many of the prophets spoke of the coming Messiah and the law being placed in hearts and minds.

The Ezekiel dispersion for protection, saved those who mourned over the sins of Israel from the Jerusalem slaughter.

There was no rest for Israel.

John the Baptist was IMHO the hearts part of the prophecy. Israel could then see their sins. Of course that did not save, but did let them know they needed a Messiah.

Jesus was the minds part of the prophecy. Ultimately their minds were filled with the mind of Christ. The day of Pentecost brought the Holy Spirit into the 120? Disciples , in the presence of the tribes of Israel brought to Jerusalem from the Ezekiel dispersion I. the nations. Hearing in their dispersion language they ultimately found rest in Jesus.

After time the Gentile inclusion Occurred. They also found rest as well.

The rest is two fold. Physical and Spiritual. Heart and mind. The man knows his sin. The born again man knows the redemption in Christ Jesus.

Paul was aware of both aspects of heart and mind. Without the awareness of sin we do not cry out for salvation. Without the awareness of salvation we do not await the resurrection in hope of eternal life.

Now the warnings that have been mentioned fit very well. The warnings do not bring salvation, but the gift of the Son of God sent by the Father is the source of rest .

Are people missing the purpose of: Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Yes they are doing that right now in this thread. ( this is bible study, so study some bible with me.)

Speaking of the purpose of the Words of Jesus, ( to learn of Him and take HIs yoke upon us, to then be meek and lowly in heart, to then find rest for our souls.)

Try to pay attention if anyone can be enabled, just for a little moment. ( relevance for your OP.)

What is the Yoke, of Christ, that we TAKE UPON US ?

Look at the scripture that foretold of Christ, that would help you people to gain an insight. The Assyrian was the rod of anger towards Israel. ( for being a hypocritical nation, for prescribing grievousness, to turn the needy aside from judgement. Isaiah 10:1-2. 10:6.)

God foretells of the day when the burden of the Assyrian would be taken off of them, ( Israel.) his yoke from off their neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed, BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost, who went about doing good, healing all oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.

He loved righteousness and hated iniquity, therefore God anointed Him with the oil of gladness above His fellows. ( this is taking HIs yoke upon us, the anointing of Christ upon us, which is hating sin, and loving righteousness.)

Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

If we are entangled again with the yoke of bondage. ( as Israel was with the yoke of the Assyrians.) we are not standing in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.( the anointing is what broke the yoke, and the anointing we have of God is the same yoke of Christ UPON US, to love righteousness and to hate iniquity.)

Israel of law not Spirit, is the example of being in the yoke of bondage now, ( not in the yoke of Christ/freedom from sin, as they deny Christ and are yet in their sins/do not believe in their heart unto righteousness. Romans 10:8-10.) and if we do sins as Israel does, we are fallen from grace, as we wait through the Spirit, for the hope of righteousness by faith. ( by not doing any iniquity, or it is nonsense, but it is blasphemy, for showing they believe Christ has a yoke of sin which they claim they have put on.)

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Attempts to justify sin through 1 Corinthians 15, are a mad attempt for a Christian forum, to think it can cover up any intentions.

We had the image of the earthy, when do we bear the image of the heavenly ?

For sinners the answer is afterwards, but there is another answer by the same author as 1 Corinthians 15.

The corruptible ( we are corruptible without Christ put on us, who is the incorruptible.) MUST PUT ON INCORRUPTION, and we are mortal without Christ put on us. ( Christ is immortality/eternal life.)

1 Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Again speaking of WHEN, we bear the image of the heavenly. ( which is putting on incorruption, putting on immortality.) it is the same time OF COURSE, when we PUT OFF, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthiness, lies, PUT OFF THE OLD MAN WITH HIS DEEDS, to PUT ON THE NEW MAN, renewed AFTER THE IMAGE OF HIM THAT CREATED HIM. ( this is when we bear the image of the heavenly, unless anyone can show in scripture from the same author, it is later we have the image of God and no longer the IMAGE OF THE EARTHLY.)

Christ is all and un all, ( this is the image of the heavenly we bear now, the Son of God is the image of the invisible God, Christ who is all and in all. the image of God who shines unto us. Galatians 3:27.

As the elect of God, holy and beloved, we put on therefore bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, ( Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13.)

If any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do we. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. ( WE PUT ON CHRIST NOW, OR HAVE SIN ON US INSTEAD/THE DEVIL. making not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof, as even this thread has tried making ways/excuses, to continue/justify sin has been shown/proven.)

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Ok
Let’s study the difference between remaining in Christ and Old Testament turning from sin.

Old covenant: (under law of Moses)
2 Chronicles 7:14 kjv
14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Note this is not for eternal life, but physical/social/community/family.

The following verses tell what happens if they fail.

New Covenant someone else?

I don't come to these forum discussions with a general animosity toward others or a desire to argue for argument's sake. I have some light that God has given me and I want to share it with others but I also wish to test my understanding of God's word and see if it holds up under the pressure of disagreement and alternative views. As well, I'm always interested in the various, differing emphases that my fellow brothers or sisters in the Lord might give to Scripture - so long as they are handling it well. Finally, as a child of God and a lover of His truth, I feel a tremendous responsibility to defend God's truth against what often seems to me to be an ever-growing tsunami of falsehood within the Church. Partly, this arises from my three-decades-long work as a discipler of men, but also from my responsibilities as a church Elder/Pastor. In both capacities, I've seen the devastation that has occurred spiritually, morally, relationally and even physically to people who get God's truth wrong. I have myself, in the past, suffered acutely under mistaken notions about God's truth, deeply frustrated and confused about being a Christian and "knowing God." These experiences of the terrible damage and bondage that getting God's truth awry produces provoke me to be very direct when responding to erroneous ideas about His truth - as I would be when, say, warning a person about to drink a glass of water into which I knew poison had been added.

I'm open to being corrected about my views, but not on the basis of subjective opinion, or on a poor handling of God's word, or by way of a Strawman version of my views - all of which things fellow Christians commonly employ in their attempts to "correct" me. I've been online purposely seeking out opportunities for "sharpening" for two decades (and, boy, have I had a lot of it!) and I've grown up in the Church, the son and grandson of pastors, and now, as a man just shy of sixty, serving in the pastoral role myself in my own church community. I share all of this to explain that I'm not a novice to the faith by any means, which is reflected in my unwillingness to accept just any old perspective on Scripture and the Christian life that fellow believers want to propose.

I realize this gets up the nose of Christian folks who have grown used to a general, uncritical affirmation of their views from fellow believers. Especially in the modern era, where Truth has become incredibly fluid and subjective and madness is celebrated, the idea that God's truth is absolute, concrete and inflexible and actually can be known is very hard for many Christians to accept. I am of the latter view, however, and so find myself confronted at every turn by fellow believers who want, it seems to me, to obscure, and/or elasticize, and/or contort God's word such that no one is able to say what His truth actually, objectively, is.

There is, too, the peculiar notion that's developed among Christians that a believer of two, or ten, years of experience with God is the equal of one who has walked carefully and faithfully with Him for fifty or sixty years. I had a stark instance with this thinking a couple of years ago when a man, brand new to the faith, asked me to disciple him. In our first meeting together for discipleship, he said to me, "We're going to teach each other in discipleship. You'll show me things about the faith and I'll show you things, too. Learning is always a two-way street." I was astonished at his words! He knew next to nothing about God or walking with Him but was sure that there were things about both subjects that he could teach me! I wondered, of course, why, if he really believed this, he would trust me to disciple him. If there were things about walking with God that he, an utter babe in Christ, could teach me, I shouldn't be teaching him!

I get this same attitude online from fellow believers who want to dismiss entirely the difference that time, knowledge and experience make to one's understanding of the Christian faith and of walking in fellowship with God. When I refuse to take this attitude and embrace juvenile, and/or ignorant, and/or careless ideas about God and His Truth, I'm labeled argumentative, or unloving. And God help me if I offer to the juvenile/ignorant/careless believer a corrective explanation of what it is to know and walk with Him!: How wrong it is of me to say that they are wrong! (Do you see the enormous irony here?) The one who claims to actually know the Truth is sure to be the one who knows it least; confidence in the Truth is just arrogance; it is blindness to say that one sees; the truth is that love doesn't fuss about what is true. By this kind of irrational and self-refuting "logic" the devil has managed to bring many Christians under a profound - and, strangely, prideful - uncertainty about God's truth which manifests in them bridling sharply against any fellow Christian who asserts a knowledge and experience of God they don't themselves possess.

Anyway, I'm not out looking for a fight, despite what some of you might believe. I am, though, deeply committed to a careful handling and plain, direct proclamation of God's truth. I've got fifty years of walking with God under my belt and would benefit you from this experience, if I can. I hope and pray you'll believe this and not assign to me the darkest motives you can imagine, as some seem ready and eager to do.

Your brother in Christ,

Tenchi.

As for prayers, God hears not sinners, and their prayer is also abomination.

Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Colossians 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

One place, as there are many, to bear the image of the heavenly is found in Colossians 3:1-17.

You seem to be mixing up two important scriptures of Colossians 3 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-58.

We can not put on incorruptible or immortality of our self as that comes only when Christ returns and then He changes the corruptible and the mortal in us to uncorruptible and immortality, read again vs. 51-52.

Colossians 3 is what we need to be doing now here on earth if ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

We are to mortify those things of the flesh while living here on earth that we will be pleasing to the Father.

The word Reckon comes to mind. I know in the south we say I reckon that is true. We do not yet see what we shall be.

Colossians 2:9 kjv
9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

All the spiritual aspects of the Godhead were in the body of Jesus.

We bore (from creation) the imagery of God.

Just like the seed reflects the idea of the word of God. A seed has in itself the ability to grow and develop and bear fruit. The idea of the godhead is in a seed, but the reality is in Jesus.

In the same way we are a sort of reflection of what God is like, but on a lower level. Jesus was the full thing of God bodily.

I see that you seem to not understand what the testimonies are saying in Colossians 3, and 1 Corinthians 15.

The chapter begins with showing we are risen with Christ. ( this is mortifying our body on earth.)

We have put off the old man with his deeds, and we have put on the new man, renewed after the image of Him who created Him. ( we are renewed after the image of Christ, who is the image of the invisible God, for by Him were all things created, all things were created by Him and for Him/Jesus Christ )

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Now opening up a lot of the verses of 1 Corinthians 15, we are testified how all in Adam die, then we have to be in Christ to be made alive. ( Colossians 3:1, WE ARE RISEN with Christ/ MADE ALIVE.)

To believe in this, we have to AWAKE to righteousness, and SIN NOT.

But some will question ( doubt) how are the dead raised up, and the answer is, fool, there is no quickening except dying first. ( Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.)

1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 Corinthians 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

Believing ( not doubting as the fool) we are dead and our life is hid with Christ, ( by Christ came the resurrection of the dead, in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive/ we are risen with Christ to seek those things that are above.)

( The fool does not believe that we are not quickened, except we die first. We are dead, and our life is hid with Christ/ He has quickened us together with Christ, having forgiven us all sins. Ephesians 2:5. Colossians 2:13.)

This is the resurrection of the dead, ( by Jesus Christ came the resurrection of the dead, as all in Adam die, but all in Christ shall be made alive, the fool does not know we are not quickened except we die, we are dead and our life is hidden with Christ, we are risen with Him/quickened together with Him.)

The body is not for fornication, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. God has both raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by His own power.

Christ was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. We also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God towards you.

The resurrection of the dead came by Jesus Christ, sown in weakness, raised in power. ( sown a natural body, raised a Spiritual body.)

1 Corinthians 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

( regarding the Spiritual body and the natural body) Adam is the living soul ( natural body, and all in Adam die.)

Christ (who is the resurrection of the dead) is the Spiritual body, who was made a quickening Spirit. ( with which we are quickened together with Him. Ephesians 2:5. Colossians 2:13.)

Romans 8 further testifies, if the Spirit that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in us, God who raised up Christ shall also quicken our mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in us.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

We were the earthly, now we are the heavenly. ( risen with Christ to set our affections not on the earth, but on the things of above/heaven.)

We had borne the image of the earthly, ( of Adam) now we bear the image of the heavenly. ( the new man, renewed in knowledge, after the image of Him that created him. Colossians 3:10. Not the fool/doubter, who has not this knowledge of God who has not awaken, and who sins. 1 Corinthians 15:34 )

( flesh and blood does not inherit the Kingdom of God. Flesh and blood is corruption. Incorruption is to have put on Christ, who never saw corruption, the Spirit, the image of God, of the heavenly. Acts 13:37.)

Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

We shall not all sleep, we shall all be changed. ( this is a mystery shown.)

We know no unclean person, no covetous man, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ, and of God. No man deceives us with vain words, because of those things ( sins) comes the wrath of God on those who are children of disobedience ( doubting as the fool.)

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light, what makes manifest is light, wherefore He says awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light. ( the mystery of, we shall not all sleep, we shall all be changed. For those reproved of the light, who arise form the dead/ who are dead and their life is hidden with Christ, who are risen/quickened together with Christ,)

Ephesians 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Ephesians 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

This mortal must put on mortality. ( mortify your members which are upon the earth. We have borne the image of the earth, now we bear the image of the heavenly.)

Then is brought to pass the saying, of death swallowed up in victory. ( thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.)

Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am glad you guys are doing some bible study now, well done.

Of course we cant consider we are dead to sin and alive to God, unless it is through belief of the way Christ has manifested to us, of the way He lives unto God. ( in real and true Holiness, in righteousness, with no unrighteousness, which is putting ion the new man and the right and only way to consider we are created in the image of Jesus Cheist, who is the image of the invisible God.)

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Good that you managed to quote 1 John 3:2.

Continuing on the thread of true Holiness, through that hope of knowing Christ is that image, we purify ourselves even as He is pure. ( as He manifested to us how He is, to believe in the same righteousness.)

NO man deceives us, because he that does righteousness, is righteous, even as He is righteous, ( in righteousness and true Holiness created after the image of Him that created him.)

He that commits sin, is of the devil, that devil sinned from the beginning, and for that purpose ( to stop the sins from the beginning) the Son of God was manifested to us ( in righteousness and true Holiness to follow) which destroys the works ( committing sins) of the devil. ( and those of the devil)

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Thoughts:
Jesus had someone share the burden of the cross.

This helped Jesus bear our burdens.

The Jew and Gentile are yoked together now. Hopefully we help the world bear their burdens. This one new man is probably more complex than we can imagine. Two histories sharing the yoke of Jesus.

Entering into his rest.

Attempts to justify sin through 1 Corinthians 15, are a mad attempt for a Christian forum, to think it can cover up any intentions.

???

We had the image of the earthy, when do we bear the image of the heavenly ?

For sinners the answer is afterwards, but there is another answer by the same author as 1 Corinthians 15.

The corruptible ( we are corruptible without Christ put on us, who is the incorruptible.) MUST PUT ON INCORRUPTION, and we are mortal without Christ put on us. ( Christ is immortality/eternal life.)

Nope. The unrepentant sinner who dies is immortal, living forever in eternal separation from God in hell.

Matthew 25:46 (NASB)
46 "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

2 Thessalonians 1:9 (NASB)
9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Revelation 14:10-11 (NASB)
10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

Luke 16:22-24 (NASB)
22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.'

Putting on Christ, then, does not make one immortal, only redeemed, forgiven, justified, sanctified and adopted.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NASB)
30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

Ephesians 1:5-7 (NASB)
5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

Galatians 4:4-7 (NASB)
4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

You appear to have totally ignored what Paul actually wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:49-53. He clearly stated when "corruption shall inherit incorruption," and that he is talking, not about a spiritual condition, but a physical one concerning the believer's body. The fleshly body with which we are born is not eternal as God's kingdom is; our fleshly bodies "corrupt" over time, aging and degenerating, finally dying and mouldering in the ground. But this isn't the end of the story, as Paul explained. At the Last Trumpet the dead - that is, our corpses - shall be raised (from the grave) "incorruptible," "putting on immortality" (vs. 53), inhabited once again by an immortal soul for all eternity. Paul is NOT speaking of a spiritual regeneration, but of a physical transformation of the believer's body such that it becomes "incorruptible" - which is to say, eternal. How you've missed this is quite a mystery to me...

Spiritually, every born-again person "puts on Christ" (Romans 13:14) becoming in him a "new creature" (2 Corinthians 5:17), but their bodies continue to "corrupt," growing aged and weak and finally dying. The believer is, over time, by the Holy Spirit, being more and more conformed to the image of Christ, but their physical body AT THE LAST TRUMPET (not at the point of conversion) will be made to "bear the image of the heavenly" - that is, it will be glorified and thus made eternal and in this way "bear the image of the heavenly."
