It's not just a matter of Faith; you must also obey God's Law.Did God, the Prophets or Jesus taught such doctrine?
Rather than go into all the verses, I'll ask how do you think people are saved?
What standard of deeds, behaviour, faith etc must be achieved in order to deserve salvation?
If someone is holding a gun to your head saying they will kill you unless another person is willing to come forth and be killed in your place
>>> Ransom ?Mat 20:28
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
If someone is holding a gun to your head saying they will kill you unless another person is willing to come forth and be killed in your place , and behold someone who loves you dearly comes forth and takes your place to be killed in your stead,
That is exactly what Jesus said He came to do .>>>Is this Biblical?
I think nowhere GOD demand someone to die for anyone, but the opposite, HE said (Ez. 18)
>>>The same Jesus also said:That is exactly what Jesus said He came to do .
Die in my place and yours as ransom
The ransom was His Life & Blood.
Jesus's Words not mine
Mat 20:28
Even as the Son of man came ........ and to give his life a ransom for many.
" reward" does not mean salvation.>>>The same Jesus also said:
Revelation 22:12
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
Not according to what Jesus did but according to what you did.
>>>So, what's reward? may be candy bar ?" reward" does not mean salvation.
Salvation is a gift, not a reward .
Eph 2:8
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God"
Every saved person will receive rewards in accordance to their honoring the obligations contingent with their salvation .>>>So, what's reward? may be candy bar ?
My friend, again, lets stay on the topic: Did GOD, The Prophets or Jesus taught the doctrine of "by faith alone"?
>>>Matthew 16:27 KJVFor the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.Every saved person will receive rewards in accordance to their honoring the obligations contingent with their salvation .
Two separate things .
>>>I know you did.I just gave you a testimony of one who walked with Jesus , who TAUGHT that salvation is a gift .
Check yourself on the statement again,
Eph 2:8
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God"
First one must define FAITH ALONE.Is the doctrine of "by faith alone you're save" Biblical?
Romans 4:4–5Did God, the Prophets or Jesus taught such doctrine?
Hey All,Is the doctrine of "by faith alone you're save" Biblical?
Did God, the Prophets or Jesus taught such doctrine?
Is the doctrine of "by faith alone you're save" Biblical?
Did God, the Prophets or Jesus taught such doctrine?
>>>Here where I disagree: I am not saved by faith alone neither by work alone. Together like chain you can't separate them.First one must define FAITH ALONE.
Faith Alone means we are saved by our Faith as opposed to Faith + Works as the Roman Catholics teach.
Faith Alone does not mean that there are not other aspects to our salvation like Christ's death or God's purpose.
Furthermore, although we are save by Faith Alone said salvific faith is always accompanied by works; said works are NOT the cause of our salvation; rather, the effect of our salvation.
>>>I asked if GOD, the prophets or Jesus taught such thing.Romans 4:4–5
Galatians 2:16
Romans 3:28
Romans 4:5
Ephesians 2:8
Philippians 3:9
Galatians 5:2-6 warns those who think they are save by their works ... 4 You have been severed from Christ, if you seek to be justified [that is, declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty, and placed in right standing with God] through the Law; you have fallen from grace [for you have lost your grasp on God’s unmerited favor and blessing].
I just gave you a testimony of one who walked with Jesus , who TAUGHT that salvation is a gift .
Check yourself on the statement again,
>>> Who is the one who walked with Jesus?
>>>Obey all his teaching and command.
>>>Sure will when its needed.Your posts come across to me as though you are are ready to pounce on the first person who disagrees with you.
You can pounce on me.
I believe that the faith we need to receive the gift of grace, is from God and is all we need for salvation to occur. I believe this faith comes only from God, so I cannot brag about saving myself. I believe that God imparted this faith alone as a means by which I am able to understand the will of the Holy Spirit, which is to believe in Jesus for the remission of my sins.
So pounce away.
Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz
Neither God, nor the prophets, nor the Apostles, nor Paul or Jesus teach that faith alone will save us.>>>Good question.
I believe, faith and deeds go hand by hand without separation.
If I believe, then my deeds should be reflections of my deeds, and the opposite...
Example: If I believe in Almighty GOD when HE said, don't lie, and I lie, then my believe worth nothing till I repent from lies.
If I do good deeds, but believe not in GOD, then my good deeds worth nothing, and accepted not by GOD.
I hope I answer your question.
back again to mine: Did GOD, The Prophets or Jesus taught the doctrine of "by faith alone"?
