Here is the only example in the gospels of a servant of the Lord on earth, that believes and behaves as one reigning and exercising authority over others.

And so, we see the common manner of Christians prophecying their own reigning on earth today, with them that do not believe in the Lord's coming with power to exercise authority over all nations on earth.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

They instead mock the Lord's millennium government upon the earth, as nothing but a symbolic fable. And in their own proud imaginations, they take unto themselves a spirit-reign today in the air, that has no authority exercised on solid ground.

And since most of them are self-confessed unrepented unrighteous sinners, then no doubt if they did reign with power upon the earth, they too would begin to beat upon others, that do not agree with and obey them.

We're been made alive. The "rod of iron" is the word of God and we govern all people the same way by it now. After the Messiah returns it's too late,

And I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Paul plainly shows he is not reigning with anyone as a Christian nor apostle on earth. Therefore, Paul is speaking of the future reigning of resurrected saints over nations of the earth. He would to God that it was indeed now, that he might also now reign with them.

And some Christians don't believe He will come again and govern all nations from Jerusalem, so that no evil rulers are allowed at all.

That's usually because they like to think they are not reigining with Him from above.

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

And their so set in their vain imagination, that they won't even respoiind to Paul rebuking certain Corinthians for acting like they reign without Paul, since the apostles knew they did not.

But why listen to an apostle of Christ, if they're not listening to Jesus Himself?

No need for Jesus to mention the gentiles then, or reigning at all. He made the comparison. The reason He made it is because that's how God wants believers to rule His creation.

People are waiting for the big battle to start.
