Why do some passage state that all unbelievers are redeemed? Can you be redeemed and still go to Lake of Fire?

Please give an example of such a passage?
Here is 2 Peter 2:1 ...

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Note that the Lord bought (redeemed) these false prophets and false teachers, even denying the Lord.

Read 2 Cor 5 and Rom 5.

2 Peter 2

False Teachers and Their Destruction

2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent Hell to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—f this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the fleshand despise authority.
Pretty clear the ungodly go to hell.

2 corinthians 5. ??

You speaking of the ministry of reconciliation? It starts off , " If anyone is in Christ He is s new creation " not all are in Christ.

Romans 5.. the very first word of the chapter is "therefore". What that means is that to understand Romans 5 you have to understand romans 4 the last paragraph of which is.

"but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification."

For those who believe Jesus will have their faith credited to them as righteousness Just as God had done for Abraham as discussed earlier in chapter 4.

We were all bought with a price as we are all sinners, which the price is the precious blood of Christ being the final sacrifice that we who come to Christ will be redeemed of our sin. God's mercy and grace is given to all who will repent of their sin and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

How does an unbeliever "repent of their sin?" Does he have to repent of all past sins? I have always thought that such a condition put on the unbeliever is very nebulous.

That's the funny thing... You don't.
What I mean by that, is that one sin is just enough to send you to Hell. One. That's really impossible for you to be able to "repent of your sins".
Plus, the word repent doesn't actually mean "turn away from your dark path", it's actually change of mind (similar, but very important).

So, the only thing we have to do is to trust on Jesus Christ for His sacrifice for our salvation (Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 1:16).

Why do some passage state that all unbelievers are redeemed? Can you be redeemed and still go to Lake of Fire?
No, based on the verses I gave, you must believe on Christ to be saved (no "repent of your sins" stuff). And about the idea of being redeemed yet going to Hell, this verse alone disapprove this statement (John 10:25-30).

May God guide you.

Repentance is primarily about agreeing with God that you are in fact a sinner and that you need His grace because there is nothing you can do about your sin. This puts one essentially in the position of being submissive to God out of thankfulness for what He has done for us.
After that it is our responsibility to rid our lives of sin as we become aware of it.

Here is an example. I did not grow up with any Christian background. I received Christ and turned my heart to Him. After a few months a girl, who invited me to a Bible study and whom I liked liked very much, ahhh that's disingenuous.. I was smitten with her asked me what I thought about sex before marriage, I told her that I didn't know which ended any opportunity to date her. But the truth was I really didn't know it was sinful. Then two things had to happen. 1. I had to come to the knowledge that it was sinful and change my mind to agree with God.
And two I had to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome such temptations this unfortunately took far too long due to my disobedience.

God demands our entire heart but he will not rip it out of our hands He wants hearts that are surrendered to Him.
All along my journey I've held onto one promise of God.
"He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it"
We are God's workmanship..He is the one doing the work, all we have to do is walk obediently. It doesn't always look textbook perfect but day by day we should be becoming more Christ like.
I cannot explain God's patience with me. I can only say that He has been.

Draw close to Him, commit yourself to His path. Then enjoy Him forever.

You must be Spiritually born again repenting of your sin, not having to state every sin that you have ever committed, but to acknowledge that you are a sinner needing God's grace as you ask for forgiveness and submit yourself to walk in Christ putting the world behind you and the cross before you.

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Salvation means the deliverance from sin and its consequences brought about by faith in Christ. It's only the work of grace at salvation that sets the believer apart as being separated from the world as this is what sanctification means. This was God's plan of salvation through Christ before the foundation of the world that through Him we are justified before God as we are made righteous by His righteousness found in us. Ephesians 1:4-7; 2:8-10; Philippians 3:9, 10

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Read the whole chapter, 2 Peter 2, for Peter's description of the false teachers. Does he say that they are actually saved, that is, "bought" by Jesus? No, the whole point is that they "claim" to be bought by Jesus' death, but they are not really Christians. Always, read and study the whole context of any verse to determine its meaning.
