Please give an example of such a passage? Why do some passage state that all unbelievers are redeemed? Can you be redeemed and still go to Lake of Fire?
Here is 2 Peter 2:1 ...Please give an example of such a passage?
We were all bought with a price as we are all sinners, which the price is the precious blood of Christ being the final sacrifice that we who come to Christ will be redeemed of our sin. God's mercy and grace is given to all who will repent of their sin and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Here is 2 Peter 2:1 ...
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.
Note that the Lord bought (redeemed) these false prophets and false teachers, even denying the Lord.
Read 2 Cor 5 and Rom 5.
How does an unbeliever "repent of their sin?" Does he have to repent of all past sins? I have always thought that such a condition put on the unbeliever is very nebulous. We were all bought with a price as we are all sinners, which the price is the precious blood of Christ being the final sacrifice that we who come to Christ will be redeemed of our sin. That's the funny thing... You don't.How does an unbeliever "repent of their sin?" Does he have to repent of all past sins?
No, based on the verses I gave, you must believe on Christ to be saved (no "repent of your sins" stuff). And about the idea of being redeemed yet going to Hell, this verse alone disapprove this statement (John 10:25-30).Why do some passage state that all unbelievers are redeemed? Repentance is primarily about agreeing with God that you are in fact a sinner and that you need His grace because there is nothing you can do about your sin. This puts one essentially in the position of being submissive to God out of thankfulness for what He has done for us.How does an unbeliever "repent of their sin?" You must be Spiritually born again repenting of your sin, not having to state every sin that you have ever committed, but to acknowledge that you are a sinner needing God's grace as you ask for forgiveness and submit yourself to walk in Christ putting the world behind you and the cross before you.How does an unbeliever "repent of their sin?" Read the whole chapter, 2 Peter 2, for Peter's description of the false teachers. Does he say that they are actually saved, that is, "bought" by Jesus? No, the whole point is that they "claim" to be bought by Jesus' death, but they are not really Christians. Always, read and study the whole context of any verse to determine its meaning. Here is 2 Peter 2:1 ...

You should take your own advise. Being saved has nothing to do with being bought. Your take on this passage is a desperate attempt to save face. Your theology is seriously lacking. What Seminary did you go to?Read the whole chapter, 2 Peter 2, for Peter's description of the false teachers. Does he say that they are actually saved, that is, "bought" by Jesus? Dallas. The only thing I didn't like was my mentor Dan Wallace was a Calvinist. Strange thing about him is his arguments for the Calvinistic view were very easy to refute. He admits he is not a theologian, in other words, he should know better than to teach God chooses some to salvation and some to hell. The following passages use the word "redeem" to describe the fact that Jesus' death paid the price to buy us from being slaves to sin and Satan to make us his adopted children. One of the many facets of salvation is that same redemption.
Gal_3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
Gal_4:5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
Tit_2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Heb_9:15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
Rev_14:3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
Rev_14:4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb.
Yes, I have a Master of Divinity Degree from Calvin Theological Seminary, all by God's great grace. Where did you go to seminary, MisterE?
