from the idiotic tv series (I've only seen commercials of it). the dome with a city trapped under it.

actually, back right after e.pres. died about late 70's ,
a friend I knew real well, who cannot be known for obvious reasons,
worked analyzing telemetry. that's data from satellites watching everything all over the world - heat signatures, electronic radiation, explosions, vapor, heat and electronic trails,
of everything that moves through earth's atmosphere or within a few hundred thousand miles of earth.

every day they had huge volumes of data from all over the world. (again, this was long , long ago, as data goes).

so to even for one nano-second think, that today, when they can find your cell phone even often when the battery is off,
to think even for one hyperbaric chamber pressurized ten-millionth of a second,
that
'they' didn't know what happened right when it happened or within a few hours of analyzing the data,
well,
as jack benny or someone else said "don't be ridiculous!"

I do not think the plane crashed in the ocean.It was huge.I have read many articles on it because I am curious.Many of the articles have made total sense.It landed somewhere.

good. according to Matthew, et al, the second coming is the time when believers are caught up to be with the Lord, and they then remain with Him to rule on earth.

if you can provide a different history that doesn't start in 1832 i'm interested. that's apparently the first year that 'rapture' as it is 'popularly' thought of as a way out of the tribulation started. corrie ten boom dealt with it over 40 years ago, but there are still some who haven't heard her.

How about 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17?I believe that is way before 1832.

I guess you missed what I said earlier, and also 1 Thessalonians 4:15.
Before 1832 this was and is correctly understood as the Lords second coming, and it is His people meeting Him in the air, and all the people all over the world will know it.
After 1832, the idea about it changed for the previous mentioned reasons. i.e. not God's idea.

Really, just verse 15 is enough to show that the view since 1832 of a 'secret' rapture is totally in error.

Besides, there's no reason for a 'secret' rapture. It has resulted in lots of money passing hands, and lots of pew-potatoes instead of active working saints striving for the work of the Gospel.

corrie ten boom warned american churches about this, but there were ones that didn't listen. Nothing can be done for them.

there's a simple inexpensive book published a few decades ago called "Jesus Against the Rapture". I don't remember anything except the title it was so long ago I read it, and I think it lists simply about 34 bible verses, half what Jesus said, that the rapture theory contradicts. vs 2 that have been used to build the theory. You can disagree if you want, a lot of people do. They never say why they dismiss what those approximately 34 bible verses say and hang on to the 2 or 3 contradictory ones.... Course they don't have to. (I just checked to see if this was in 'end times' and it's not, so if it comes up again see you there. (course, we are in the end times according to paul; so current events and end times coincides ! ) )

Hi Jeff. The rapture and the second coming are actually two different events. The rapture precedes the second coming. The rapture (time) is imminent, and the rapture is being caught up in the air, not the second coming. The second coming (time) occurs at the end of the 7 year tribulation (Armageddon), when the Lord comes back and defeats the Anti-Christ and all his enemies and then pours out his seven bowls (vials). - DRS81
