  • Thanks; I'll have to listen some time.

BTW, did you see the sudden splurge of the ads on this site for fake gauge earrings? some of them look quite striking, anyway.

I'll turn in soon; have a nice night. Blessings.
My comment would be that if it is to be considered as questioning God, and a Christian message, too, it needs to contain an element of how faith and trust override feelings of despair. Like with the Psalms, for example, David wonders aloud, but he always is brought back to a right focus. (Two cents'.)

(I'll have to listen to the other link you just posted, too, ty.)

    Blessings.
Interesting; sounds like a story of disappointed human relations; unfulfilled love, etc. (Maybe also an echo of the 1960s black radical slogan: Burn, baby, burn!) What do you think?
PS: Sorry to learn just know about the extent of your mom's sense of problems and issues. I guess even if you don't particularly feel like it, some kind of 'bonding' or whatever on your part to make her feel close to you might be appreciated by you, even if at the time you might not feel like it. You must know best, anyway. Blessings.
Okay, back. We heard a good message tonight on Acts 9, how Dorcas was God honoring and full of good works. Yes, the word 'liberal' can be made to mean almost anything. In World War Two, Nazis could have been described as a bit more liberal than their Lithuanian fascist friends, because they actually insisted on burying the Jews they murdered instead of leaving them to rot, as the Lithuanian fascists wanted to do. (Yes, really!) So unless we know the exact context of what a word such as 'liberal' means, all sorts of misunderstandings can occur.
Anyway, Peter says, 'gird up the loins of your mind' (1 Peter 1.13), in other words, get into the habit of thinking clearly, sensibly and weighing up things with discernment. Have a great meeting tonight with your own Bible study. Blessings.
Okay; I just put the 'phone down; re. liberal, the word means all sorts of things, but sometimes politics and theology get mixed up. Some fanatical people think being liberal is to teach children to commit fornication while trying to muzzle anyone who thinks otherwise. Sorry I'm in a rush just now. Blessings.
Interesting link; ty. Good to be wise about it.

My wife and I have gtg to a Bible study shortly; gtg.

    (Plus telephone!)
Hi questdriven: I looked up your link, thanks, and I would happen to agree with a very great deal of what you say. Regarding the Alexandrian manuscripts, it's true that the basic doctrines of the faith can be found in them, though some people would say that the Byzantine / majority manuscripts also bear a stronger witness to them. But anyway, if I may say so I do like the fact that you have obviously tried to maintain a balanced vew of things: some dear folk almost fanatically take one viewpoint, and then, when it becomes untenable, swing wildly to the opposite! The Christian life isn't like that, of course. Blessings.
It's a matter of conscience, isn't it? The Lord encourages us to have sensitive consciences in following Him, and personally an environment of drugs and alcohol and writhing bodies is something my conscience tells me is a no-no. Of course, some people go beyond and say, for example, that raves and clubs play rock music, 'therefore' (supposedly) all Christian rock music is wrong. It's not logical. Same with other areas. There are undoubtedly crude and distasteful tattoos with erroneous messages about. But then some people go an illogical stage further and say that even if it's a tasteful, witness design, e.g., a Bible ref. on a wrist, it supposedly links the wearer to immoral practices and other people's crudeness. E.g., Kaileymarie has just posted that her tattoos are not offensive and aren't linked (illogically) with other people's crude behavior, an expressed idea she wanted to refute. So we need to be sensitive. (A bit long; just to put it in context. Makes some sense?) Blessings.
Hi, did you see the thread about warehouse raves? personally I think the environment is over the top. I would tend to steer clear, anyway.
