    Fun with Morality Questions

? Morality - the concept human ethics, right and wrong, good and evil? Three components - codes of behavior (conduct), the individual conscience, and a shared system of principles and judgements. Moral relativism is NOT the lack of religious dogma, it's a self-negating system. Flatly...

Don't secularise Christmas, says joint forum

What? Christmas IS already a legal religious holiday. They do, YOUR Congress refers to "winter break" as "Christmas", since session one. No, that's not the secularists' motives, not even close: Not exactly in the holiday spirit, now is it? Customized holidays?????? "Christmas" =...

    Fun with Morality Questions

About Dawkins.....self-worship. Only one god to an ego that large. Those are more of shifts in social attitudes. Moral relativism is more that's there no absolutes of right and wrong, that's everything's "relative". It's a dangerous attiude. If that's what he was trying to do, he's wrong...

    Fun with Morality Questions

This is difficult. Okay, the US military is all-volunteer, anyone who enlists knows they're at a higher risk to die in combat. They've made the moral decision on their part that it's worth it. In other words, they made the moral judgement. I would've tried to have Saddam assassinated instead...

    Fun with Morality Questions

I read the thing. Dawkins is an atheist god, apparently. The whole book was just page after page of bashing ANY religion, especially THAT one. He didn't answer ID well enough for me, but I did find out from him that I was mentally ill, as all religious people are to him. In the back of the...

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

Now THAT"S a good post. Ya, it begins within. God Bless.

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

When you said other people had no idea what it was like to be a homosexual, it implied to me you were one. As does the rest of this and other posts. I managed to do that without consulting the Bible first to see if I was doing it right. Okay? What I said was I would to cure myself if I...

    Fun with Morality Questions

Yes. Otherwise, it's my moral judgement on who lives and who dies. I'm not qualified to do that. Now your scenario is impossibly contorted, reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode when someone tried to go back in time to kill Hitler as a baby. But even if that suceeded, there'd just been...

    Fun with Morality Questions

No, otherwise, you're playing God again. But in that scenario, how can "you" get that close to the truck in the first place? A window must be open, tell him unfasten his big government mandate seat belt NOW? Mercy killing = moral relativism, he ought to shoot himself in the head instead.

    Fun with Morality Questions

LOL, Richard Dawkins????? Now, there's a soul that needs all the prayer he can muster. Wasn't hard for me at all, Quath, trick is, don't make a moral value judgements. In other words, reacting in any of those scenarios is valuing one life over another, and that's playing God, just as...

    Hey lawhammer and anybody else.

I'm not sure if I use sarscasm as a defense mechanism, jon-marc, and that's all I'm gonna say!!!! Another poster here inspired me: It was truncated to fit. I'll change it if you want me to. http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=26212 Abortion, "gay marriage", euthenasia, the...

    The Word Reverend

Matthew 23:5-10 I always thought "reverend" was an honorary title, the Church will title a bishop "the Very Reverend", and all priests are "the Reverend father", but NO clergy is called just plain "reverend", or even "the reverend". It's "Bishop", "Father".

    Should Homosexuals Adopt Children ?

Well, a high income/economic stability has been a requirement to adopt in the US since the beginning. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it prevents alot of problems. It's just a fact that the higher the socio-econonic bracket the parents are in, the better their children do overall in life...

    Should Homosexuals Adopt Children ?

LOL, Jesus was no "pro-choice" liberal. There's nothing stopping a non-sterile homosexual from "having a child". That's impossible for a homosexual couple to achieve. The standards for adoption should be the strictest of all - two parents, one male one female, nice house, high income...

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

I saw in another thread some of you were wondering whether "moniker" was a homosexual, but "SputnikBoy" here....how would one really know, unless...? Okay, what I think I would do is to "cure" myself of this. Failing that, I'd pack up and move down to San Francisco. One thing I wouldn't do is...

    Should Homosexuals Adopt Children ?

No, regardless of Rosie O'Donnell happens to think, homosexuals should not be allowed to legally adopt children. Maybe you can't always pick your parents, but in adoptions, you sure can. It's not right to conduct social experiments on children, public schools do too much of that as it is.

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

It's not faulty thinking to understand that a woman and a woman or a man and a man cannot produce a child together, even in some lab. Talk about homosexuls adopting children is another thing altogether, only one can be a biological parent.

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

Yes, and? Who was preaching hate in this case? Elton John again. It's no slander to say he was a homosexual for years and said otherwise for years, it's a fact. He insulted many of his own fans, but being some kind of athiest/agnostic. he can be materialistic AND bash religion.

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

I wanted to answer this directly.... Shame on me? What about shame on Elton John for his public advocation of supression of all religion? Tolerance works both ways, athiest-boi.

    Elton John: Religion encourages hatred

I totally agree, Christian leadership has simply got to stop appeasing some people. It's the old "give 'em an inch, they'll take a mile" thing working here. He also lied about his sexuality for decades. Elton John is a lost soul, he expects to be tolerated but not to tolerate, typical...
