    Trying to Identify a Bird

Actually mockingbirds can imitate the sounds of other animals and even machines. I wish I could copy and paste an article I read about, but don't know how to on this tablet I'm using.

    Trying to Identify a Bird

That is interesting WIP. I was going to say it could be a mockingbird since they can imitate other birds calls but if the sound is made with the feathers they probably couldn't do it. The mockingbird is the state bird of Texas and can imitate at least 200 or more calls of other birds.

    Most Likes - Jethro Bodine

Jethro gets all the likes because he makes us laugh. Ever thought about becoming a Christian comedian Jesthro? I'm sure the pastor of our church would love to have you on a Sunday evening.

Heard the news? Homosexual Marriage is now the law of the land

Pastors won't have to marry, but what about all of the other people that work at the office where marriage license are issued? I can't confirm this, but my mom told me that some marriage license offices in certain counties in Texas shut down a few days ago and nobody was able to get a license...

Heard the news? Homosexual Marriage is now the law of the land

What if Christians only have a ceremony, married by pastor and a church document for marriage, but opt out of the legal part so we set ourselves apart??

Heard the news? Homosexual Marriage is now the law of the land

I think that the government never should have gotten involved with the marriage process in the first place. Does the Bible say anything about having to have a document issued by the government for marriage? It seems like we wouldn't be having this "issue" if marriage was kept out of the gov...

    Can you survive without technology

I have been living with very limited technology for the last couple of weeks while I am in Brazil visiting my in laws. There is no A/C, dishwasher, a few washing machines, but clothes are hang dried. When taking a shower the water trickles out and since the water is heated with an electric...

    Reincarnation debunked in 5 seconds.

My wife has friends and some family that are spiritualist. The particular type of spiritualism that they believe in places a lot of importance on communicating with the dead through mediums and reincarnation. That doesn't make much sense if you think about it. If you reincarnate how can you...

    The Arrogance of Abortion

A friend I made recently told me that he has an adopted sister that is an "abortion survivor". When the doctor was doing the abortion operation something went wrong (or right) and she survived. During the operation the instrument or whatever it is called damaged her legs so bad that they had...

Jury sentences Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death

It's called "loving them to death".

Jury sentences Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death

I have often thought that we shouldn't enforce the death penalty or kill in self defense unless it was absolutely necessary because the person might still have a chance to be saved. It was only recently that I changed my mind after seeing scriptures like these.

The Church and Money in Post-Christian America

I can definitely see that happening. The church I attend has a paid staff, but also a lot of the members volunteer for ministries like VBS, teaching sunday school, community outreach groups, etc... I don't think there is a lack of people to fill all the ministry positions, but my guess is that...

The Church and Money in Post-Christian America

I have many of those same questions. Besides preaching sermons on Sunday and Wednesday, just how much other stuff does the pastor do? As for weddings and funerals...isn't the pastor paid by the couple getting married for the marriage ceremony and paid by the family of the deceased for a...

The Church and Money in Post-Christian America

I think pastors and church employees should receive a salary. What if pastors were not paid and had to work a 9-5 job in addition to pastoring the church. Would he still be able to fulfill all the duties of pastor?

    PUPPIES!!! (And a somber warning)

This is a familiar sounding story. For the first three years I worked as a teacher's aide I also was a special ed bus aide in the morning and afternoon routes. Most of the students that we picked up went to the school that I work at. The parents are supposed to call in and let the driver know...

    PUPPIES!!! (And a somber warning)

That is a good reminder of how easily something could happen. I am wondering how my 4 year old would react if she was asked to go see the other puppies? I know my 8 year old son wouldn't do it. He is so cautious that when I pick him up from school and the students are all standing outside...
