    What would you do?

I have been in numerous situations where I could have compromised. In some cases, I did. In many, I did not, and I had to come up with some unconventional ways to go about it. I once slept in a rowboat in a lake to get away from harassment.

    What would you do?

I actually got the idea from a photo of Cary Grant laying in a tub on a pillow with his clothes on. It makes sense to me, regardless of the situation, to talk over any kind of job change with your spouse, because it will eventually affect them.

    What would you do?

I assume in this scenario that I am married, so I would talk it over with my wife. If I wasn't married, I'd take the promotion and sleep in the bathtub, making sure no one joined me. I've done that before, and it's pretty comfortable with a comforter and pillow. If I was married, I'd refuse to...

Do you know how to swim?

I know how to swim and I love doing so, provided I have someone in the pool with me. I was the kid who believed in the shark under the diving board and the invisible pool monster who would pull you under. I was also nearly drowned by some other kids in my youth group (intentionally; they forced...

Country ,city or small town...just for fun

This. I grew up seven miles from the nearest small town, and would prefer to live in it, but I'd also be comfortable with the city. As long as I'm close to conveniences, I'm good.

    Fading West

I've listened to the album. I was into Switchfoot when they first came out, but I just can't "feel it" like I used to. They are more musically and lyrically talented than the Tomlins and W. Smiths of the CCM world, and I can definitely get behind their lyrics, but the music is just not really...

    Confidence

Confidence is a good thing. It helps you to move through an unfamiliar or daunting situation. It's courage to face the world. Cockiness is when confidence becomes arrogance, thinking that you're better than you are, or that you should receive special treatment. I love confidence in a woman, it...

    Hello

"Goth" is an old Germanic word meaning "The People." It refers to a Germanic tribe who, incidentally, became the first Christians in Germany. Yes, the wardrobe looks dark because it is black, but it is not evil. Benny Hinn does more evil in his white suit than any goth I've ever met, Christian...

    Hello

The darkness Jesus was referring to was evil, not simply things like night, or the color black, or dark makeup. I have seen more "normal" Southern Baptists fellowship with darkness than I have seen goths fellowship with the darkness. Christian goths appreciate night time, dark makeup, and dark...

    Up Late?

I have bipolar 1 disorder, so I have insomnia during my hypomanic and manic phases. Sometimes I can stay up for three or four days at a time.

    Hello

A person who appreciates a darker aesthetic. They also tend to appreciate the "darker" side of life, seeing it as melancholy. There are as many different definitions of "goth" as there are goths. Generally, they have one thing in common: black clothing, white and black makeup. See also...

    Your Dream Home

:eek2 I'd suffocate in something that small. Kudos to you for being able to survive and thrive in that kind of a home, WIP .

    Your Dream Home

I'm allergic to cleaning (not really). I actually enjoy cleaning, but I plan on having someone to clean my home, because I'm just not very good at cleaning. I wouldn't mind hiring people to maintain my property. I would like the "open flow" feeling, the large windows, and so on.

    Growth God is Always There

You mistook my meaning. Spiritual death, as I understand it, refers to one's lack of salvation. It does not refer to the non-existence of the soul.

    Photographs A Picture of Me

This is what I looked like in 2009, crutches and all. That lovely lady next to me is my sister. My auburn hair is now almost as long as my jester cap's tendrils; I had just begun to grow it out there, and was nearly bald.

    Writers

Thank you. I am truly flattered. This was an unedited, "off the top of my head" sample of my writing style, but I did not think it was the best I could do. I also edited out the character names and one swear word, but it is otherwise true to my writing style for the novel I'm working on. Again...

"An Unquiet Mind" by Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison

I highly recommend anything by Dr. Jamison, though some of her books can become a bit clinical. This is a good introduction. You might also look into: Goodwin, F. K. and Jamison, K. R. Manic-Depressive Illness. New York: Oxford University Press, 1990. (Manic-Depressive Illness: Bipolar...
