Thanks, so he was with LAPD then. Not the Wallace i knew though. That Wallace was older and started probably around the late 70's.
I was a big fan of McDowels Evidence That Demands a Verdict too so this book sounds better all the time. I'm going to have to get it for my next camping trip...
No, that's not dishonest gain unless you are the one who programmed their computer system to do that and you did it on purpose so you could buy pies for $2. The hassle and employee time that it will cause for you to try to pay them the extra money now will cost them more than the difference in...
I'm interested to see how this turns out under Florida laws and considering he's a juvenile. What worries me is the statement: "The final shot hit the man in the leg as he was hopping the fence, the boy said." I think for an adult that might be a problem. Not sure for a juvenile, who are...
I think I'm gong to have to watch some of his videos. With my law enforcement background to help me understand his reasoning, maybe this would give me some new ideas on witnessing to those skeptics.
Ah. Thanks. I worked with a guy on LAPD named Wallace and he was always referred to just as "Wally" so I never even knew his first name. I wondered if my some slim chance this might have been him. But this one is younger and worked for the LA Sheriffs, not LAPD.
I know how frustrating and upsetting that can be because I'm also one who is always suspicious of vandalism when things like this happen to me too. But take a good look at other possibilities before you convince yourself that it's someone out to get you.
I used to work near a scrap metal yard...
Quoted to preserve the Original Post;
It seems like we had a similar thread to this maybe a year or so back. It's probably a good time to re-hash it so we can have a refreshing break from the flood of some of the other threads all discussing the same couple of topics into the thousands of...
That just goes to show ya that when people only want to win an argument they can always find statistics to back up their claim, no matter how wrong it is.
While my post was intended as a little bit tongue in cheek humor, there was also intended to be truth in it, as illustrated by Jesus when he told us "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself." (Jesus, Matt 6:34 ESV)
I especially like the way the ISV...
I think you are right. The winters have been less cold where I live over the last couple of years. Praise God for global warming! He's in control, so I praise Him for taking care of us, whether it's a slightly warmer winter or the food on my table, Praise God!
It's pretty much an accepted concept in mainstream Christianity that when we get to heaven we will have been made perfect. Why would a perfect being need to spend 100 years learning to do things differently?
I live where it's cold in winter. I welcome global warming and have asked Al Gore to send some more of it to us here in the Northwest. I'll bet those spending winters in the Midwest would agree too. :yes
Uh, just to be clear, I wasn't trying to support avoiding church. My point was that living with God in your life means a lot more than just going to church on Sunday morning. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
That makes sense. Especially when a person realizes that having God in your life means a lot more than just going to church on Sunday morning! It means allowing Him to be part of and in control of everything you do all day, every day.
What does that have to do with whether or not things not mentioned in the Bible are unbiblical and sinful or not? Are you perhaps saying that by this verse things not specifically mentioned as sinful then are not sinful as long as we put our faith directly in Christ? And if we don't put our...
So what kind of things do you think this passage is talking about when it says "whatsoever is not of faith..."? Maybe not just material "things", but also ideas, concepts, attitudes, or whatever...
