Anyone read this book or others by J. Warner Wallace? A friend of mine turned me on to him, and I'm soaking up everything I can find. He has a biweekly podcast by the same name as the title, other books, and content on YouTube.

He was a cold case detective in Los Angeles. He was an self described atheist that was brought to faith, and he turned his experience into a career in apologetics. He completed seminary, and he's been dedicated to proving the authenticity of scripture and its claims. This book is fascinating! Here's his website.

I think I'm gong to have to watch some of his videos. With my law enforcement background to help me understand his reasoning, maybe this would give me some new ideas on witnessing to those skeptics.
 
Hey, sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. Obadiah I didn't know the answer to your question, so I wanted to find out before I replied, and then I forgot about this thread. Nice, huh? :lol I even checked out the Wikipedia page reba pointed you to, but I couldn't find it there either. He doesn't mention when his employment with the LAPD ended, but I think he was somewhat still with them up until a few years ago. I know he started with them in 1988.

He has a very interesting style. In Cold Case he toggles back & forth between scenes he was involved in as a homicide detective and his research of biblical evidence to show a comparison between the two.

One of my favorite Apologetics books is Evidence Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. Cold Case Christianity is right up there with it. Both authors have a great deal of credibility.
 
Thanks, so he was with LAPD then. Not the Wallace i knew though. That Wallace was older and started probably around the late 70's.

I was a big fan of McDowels Evidence That Demands a Verdict too so this book sounds better all the time. I'm going to have to get it for my next camping trip. (That's when I do all my reading. :approve)

I thought of Evidence That Demands A Verdict when I read your O.P. just now and I was going to write this. You beat me to it.

Let me just say that the similarity is because the author of ETDAV started out to disprove Christianity with the pre-conceived notions that he had, and he ended up becoming a believer! I have the book and will be looking through it later on. I remember that it was good - maybe not too deep, but good.

It's also useful for apologetics - many pointers.

Obadiah I know for a fact that you would love Cold Case, since you have that interest in law enforcement. I'm gonna have to insist that you procure it post haste!

wondering do the Christian thing and humbly turn me down if I ever challenge you to a debate. I see the disparity between our intellects clearly if you thought EDaV was not too deep. I thought it was a tremendous thinker, but as Forest always said, "I'm not a smart mayan". :confused
