Yes, God has no new revelations, but the old ones are not always crystal clear to us, most of the time we get blinded by the world, overwhelmed by our own emotions, or misled by seemingly sound teachings. Take the topic of this thread for instance, the nature of life (and death) is perfectly summed up in these two verses:God is no longer bring new revelations. Revelation is still the last chapter in the Bible.
Why would a person believe a lying spirit of the dead?
The voice of Satan "king of lying wonders" to wonder after. God sends them a strong delusion that they might continue to be the lie.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie
the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit); and man became a living being (soul). (Gen. 2:7)
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” (1 Cor. 15:46, quoting Gen. 2:7)
Into Your hand I commit my spirit, you have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth! (Ps. 31:5)
“Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last. (Lk. 23:46, quoting Ps. 31:5)
Traditionally, the trinity doctrine is erroneously extended to the nature of life, that a person is of "body, soul and spirit." But according to Gen. 2:7, body, soul and spirit are not independent entities, it's an equation rather than a triangle - body + spirit = soul. Body is formed first, and the spirit activates the body, consider that our first cry out of the womb. When life comes to an end, body and spirit are separated, spirit returns to God, body returns to the ground, i.e. ashes to ashes, dust to dust (Gen. 3:19). When people die, it's their spirits that will be judged by God, not their consciousness, emotions, personalities, attitudes, memories or intelligence.
