12 reasons why hell is not eternal couscious torment - Part One

But it, indeed does. There is no stand alone scripture in the Bible and no scripture can ever be understood without the light of all scripture influencing it.

If you're not interested in discussing the issue please, just let me know. The issue is clear in Scripture.

Drew you did not answer my question.Do you think that you have the Holy Spirit in you?
Umm, I'm not the one who didn't respond to the issue. If, however, you are interested in the real truth it can be easily had. All you need to do is look at the Scriptures.
Hmmm....I was just going to say the same thing to you.You took the words right out of my mouth.

You are right the issue sure is clear in Scripture
Matthew 25:41
Matthew 3:12
Daniel 12:2
Mark 9:44-49
Luke 16:23-24
2 Thessalonians 1:9
Revelation 14:10-11
Revelation 20-10

Your telling us that the spirit we're born with isn't ours, its Gods spirit, and when i die it goes back to him?.. According to scripture Gods holy spirit doesn't come to live in us until we are born again.. if your correct with that thinking then everything I've learned is false, I've not heard this teaching, could you elaborate, where your learned this doctrine?

Thanks..

tob

*edit: i forgot to add your name Butch, sorry

Hi tob,

It's in the Scriptures. Look at the creation of man in Gen 2:7 he is created from the dust. There is nothing in Scripture that I've seen anywhere that indcates that indicates that man is a spirit. Yes, there is a spirit in man but it is not man it is God's breath/spirit (same word). If you noticed the passage from Ezekiel 37 when God brings the Israelites back to life at the resurrection it is "His" spirit/breath (the Greek word is Ruwach) that He puts in them and they live. In both passages Gen 2:7 and Ezekiel 37 we see God creating man and breathing His breath/spirit into him and he lives.

The passage from Job says that if God retrieved His breath/spirit all flesh would die and return to the dust. That shows that God's breath/spirit is in all living flesh, I submit that it is the breath of life that we see given to Adam.

Which one says that people will burn for eternity?

Where did you get this doctrine scriptures say God cannot look on sin he can't live in us in our sinful nature, otherwise why would we need Jesus. That's the entire point of the Gospel so that God could live within us, He can't take a spirit back that's been stained by sin its "impossible" I've noticed a theme to much of these doctrines floating around they all eliminate our need of a saviour

(Edited, ToS 2.4, belittling and insulting. Obadiah)

It's in the Scriptures. Set aside what you already believe and look at the Scriptures for only what they say.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Gen 2:7 NKJ)

This passage says that the man was formed from the dust of the ground. So, whatever a man is he is from the dust of the ground. We can also see that God breathed into the man the breath of life. The Greek word is Neshamah it means breath or spirit. When God did this the man became a living soul. So, we can see that a living soul consists of two things the man of dust and the breath of life.

Earlier this afternoon I posted this message in this thread:

"If you are going to post something, please do it with respect. Maybe try pretending you are talking face to face with a respected member of your church with other respected church members sitting around the same table listening to your statements. Maybe that will help. If you are still unsure of what is right or wrong, read the ToS, even if it takes some time to read. Make sure you understand it. If you make veiled threats, insults, or derogatory statements moderator action will have to be taken. We are trying to keep this thread with an even keeled, respectful tone. Thanks."

In the few hours since then some of you have decided to make a mockery of my request and have brought this thread down to a disrespectful fighting and insult match. This thread will now remain closed permanently and moderator action is being taken.
