Jesus was crucified Nisan 15 between Thursday night fall and before Friday nightfallWas Jesus crucified on the day of preparation which you identify as Nisan 14?
Or was Jesus crucified on Nisan 15 as you indicate above?
He was sacrificed on the same exact day of the year that the Passover lambs always had been slain!
Judas Iscariot led the bloodthirsty mob who seized Jesus, and led him away to be crucified during the daylight part of the same 14th day of the month of Abib
Jesus was crucified Nisan 15 between Thursday night fall and before Friday nightfall
Is Nisan 15 the 'feast day' or the 'day of preparation'?
Do you believe the Last Supper was a Seder?
Then you disagree with your earlier post?April 2 Nisan 14 Thursday (Wednesday nightfall to Thursday nightfall) Day of Passover preparation - Last Supper
April 3 Nisan 15 Friday (Thursday nightfall to Friday nightfall) Passover; Feast of Unleavened Bread begins - Crucifixion
According to Mark 14:12-18 I do believe it was a Seder as they sat with Jesus and ate the Passover meal Thursday evening before nightfall.
He was our Passover, sacrificed for us and He was sacrificed on the same exact day of the year that the Passover lambs always had been slain!
Then you disagree with your earlier post?
How do you reconcile Mark 14:12-18 with:
Jhn 18:28 ¶ Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
Jhn 19:14 - And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
if he is to be remembered on the 16th would there not be a 3 day interval between these two datesI agree. Similarly, the memorial of his resurrection on Abib 16 should remembered on Abib 16 once a year which just happened to fall on a Sunday the year resurrected. There is nothing special about Sunday week after week, but Abib 16 each year is very special.
The exodus, a type of our deliverance from sin, began on Abib15. The blood of the Passover lambs, shed on the afternoon of Abib 14, protected Israel's firstborn from death. The "Lord's Supper" took place on the evening of Abib 14.
No I do not disagree with any of my post as Jesus sat with His disciples and ate the Passover/Seder meal on the evening of Thursday Nisan 14. Seder is actually seven days beginning on the evening of Nisan 14 until the evening of Nisan 21, which is known as the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb occurred in the afternoon on Nisan 14 as noon would be considered the descent of the sun and the Passover meal would start before sundown that would be the beginning of the new day of Nisan 15. The Jewish day begins at sundown. On Nisan 14 Jesus being the sacrificial Lamb was being prepared for the Passover that would take place on Nisan 15 at sunrise being the third hour (Around 7:00AM), Mark 15:25, as He was being crucified (scourged) up to the sixth hour when the sky turned dark over all the land, Mark 15:33, when he hung on the cross and at the ninth hour (around 3:00PM), Mark 15:34, He gave up the Ghost and died.
You can not reconcile John with the other accounts of Matthew, Mark and Luke as they all give the same written witness of the Crucifixion
Are you saying that the Passover lamb for the last supper was killed in the afternoon on Nisan 14, and then Jesus being our sacrificial Lamb was killed in the afternoon on Nisan 15?
That would not be 3 days and 3 nights.
The 14th of Nissan, the Preparation day, the day of crucifixion, day before Passover.
Preparation for last supper, Matt.26:17-19
The even was come, our Tuesday after sunset , when plot for betrayal, Matt.26:20
The trials continued throughout our Tuesday night, Matt.26:57-27:31
Sixth hour, our Tuesday midnight, Pilate said, behold your king, John 19:14,15
It was the third hour, and they crucified Him, our Wed.9am Mark 15:25,26
The sixth hour, our Wed. Noon, and the darkness Matt.27:45-49
The ninth hour, our Wed.3pm and the expiring cry, Matt.27:50
Buried in haste before sunset, our Wed.6pm, before the "High Day" ( the first day of the Feast, our Wed. Sunset
The First day of the Feast, the High Day, the 15th day of Nisan
Our Wed.Sunset to Thursday sunset
The first night and first day in the tomb.
Second day of the Feast, 16th day of Nisan
Our Thursday sunset to Friday sunset
The second night and day in tomb...
Third day of feast, the weekly Sabbath, 17th of Nisan
Our Friday sunset to Saturday sunset
The third night and day in the tomb
The first day of the week, 18th Nisan
Our Saturday sunset, the third day, of Matt.16:21, not the third day of the Feast.
Thus, the Resurrection of the Lord took place at our Saturday sunset, or thereabouts, on third day, after three days Matt.27:63
This has always confused me a littleMat 26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
Mat 26:2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
Mat 26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
Mat 26:4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
Mat 26:5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
The first Passover is described in Exodus 12 as the first month was Abib/March according to the Jewish Lunar Calendar. Passover always falls on the 15th day of Nisan/April 2, Exodus 12:6, which begins Thursday after sundown and ends Friday at sundown. Nisan15 fell on April 3, A.D.33.
April 2 Nisan 14 Thursday (Wednesday nightfall to Thursday nightfall) Day of Passover preparation - Last Supper
April 3 Nisan 15 Friday (Thursday nightfall to Friday nightfall) Passover; Feast of Unleavened Bread begins - Crucifixion
April 4 Nisan 16 Saturday (Friday nightfall to Saturday nightfall) Sabbath
April 5 Nisan 17 Sunday (Saturday nightfall to Sunday nightfall) First day of the week - Resurrection
On Thursday evening Jesus ate a Passover meal with His disciples, being the "Last Supper" where Jesus announced that one of His twelve would betray Him. Mark 14,15. Jesus was crucified on the day of preparation for the Passover on Friday April 3 A.D. 33 about the third hour of the morning and gave up the Ghost about the ninth hour being 3:00PM Friday afternoon.
My understanding is that the sacrificial lambs were being killed at the very same time that Jesus was on the cross: between 12 and 3 pm. (Thursday). That's what scripture says if you study the deeper things of Gods word and go into the history and not just the surface

Could you or Jocor please explain:
Jesus had the passover meal on Thursday evening. (wed evening to thurs evening.)
But the preparation for Passover was on Friday. (fri evening to sat evening - as today)
Shouldn't Jesus have had the Passover meal on Friday evening??
Wondering
