I would like to know what fellow christians think of this 70th week of Daniel interpertation of the bible. If this was correct it would represent that we are in Tribulation now and a pre rapture has been missed.

For the record I am not saying I believe any of it ,, so please don't come calling me nasty names saying I am making predictions etc.. I merely want to know what all of you think. Lets avoid pre trib and rapture arguments as that will go forever. I would just like to know if any of you believe this could be correct. Please be nice and keep an open mind. There does appear to be scripture to support these findings and the views seem politically correct.

In the third video, he says there will be peace in Jerusalem by the end of 2008. It is now June 11th., 2009 (or the 12th., depending on where you live). There is no peace in Jerusalem as of yet.

Even if he is correct, it don't mean anyone missed the 'rapture', it could be that one of the other futurist positions are correct, most likely post trib or my futurist position of choice, Pre Wrath.

THIS will NOT be the generation that sees the return of Christ! What do you mean by "this generation?" Did not Jesus say "THIS generation will by no means pass away till ALL these things take place?" Why is Jesus not allowed to use this expression in the same way in which you are using it? You intend to convey your contemporaries--so did Jesus!

The generation Jesus clearly indicated, using the expression "this generation" in the same sense you are using, saw His return!

Matthew24:34

Vic can you please tell me what the futurist position is.. I must confess I don't know what this term means yet I keep reading it on this forum. Is this an mid trib or end trib term??

I am referring to the signs for the Second Coming of Christ. You can watch these videos "signs of the second coming of christ" that might give you an idea what I mean.

Maybe I should change it to "second coming of Christ"

Basically, any position that puts the 70th. week of Daniel in our future is a "futurist" position. Any of the pre-millennial positions like pretrib, midtrib, posttrib (Historic premillennialism) and prewrath fit this category. Some of the more well known Historic premillennialists were, George Eldon Ladd, John Gill and Charles Spurgeon.

There's also post-millennial and amillennial positions that either say we are already past (post) the 1,000 era or believe the 1,000 years are metaphorical or symbolic (amillennial).

There is another position called Historicism, which is gaining some popularity again. It was held by many of the Reformers and by most SDAs. They see most prophecy (mainly Daniel 9, much of Matthew 24-25 and Revelation) as "history prewritten". Meaning, they describe events that had occurred throughout Biblical history, starting from the rebuilding of Jerusalem (Dan. 9:25) to the start of Jesus' ministry and His death, to the stoning of Stephen and the Gospel being offered to the first Gentile (Cornelius) to the events leading up to 70AD and on and on up to the future Advent of Christ and God's final Wrath.

They insist that Daniel 9, particularly vs. 24-27 are Messianic, contain nothing concerning about an antichrist and is consecutive to the first 69 weeks. Issac Newton wrote much about this and wrote over 1,000,000 words on Bible prophecy alone! That's more that he wrote about math and science and he studied the Bible right from the Hebrew and Greek texts available to him.

They insist the Papacy is the antichrist.

There we have our preterist buddies. :D Despite what they (or anybody else) may tell you, no one position is 100% accurate or correct. Even the late scholar, John Walvoord, admitted this.

Glad you asked. :-) Say, does the name Francisco Ribera mean anything to you? Research him. ;)

We cannot possibly be into the 70th week of Daniel, because the 6th seal MUST come first, and the two events shown by John in his first "intermission" must also be accomplished. Please read from the sixth seal to the 7th, and everything inbetween.

Trust me, the world will not miss the 6th seal, because that is the "sudden destruction" mentioned by Paul, that tells everyone that knows the scriptures that the 70th week is imminent. It is a world wide earthquake, that shakes every mountain range in the world.

What causes such a tremendous earthquake? It will be the power of the Holy Spirit as He brings together all the atoms of the dead saints around the world, as the dead in Christ rise up. Can you picture it? In one split microsecond, all the molecules that used to make up every body of every saint, will instantly be moved into its place, as the body is restored. Some of these molecules or atoms may be miles from the grave!!! Some may be a part of a plant. some may be hundreds of feet underground!!! But they will all come back in one instant!!! This will cause the world wide earthquake!! Please not, Matthew wrote, "the earth did quake....and the graves were opened." What does John show us just a few verses after the mighty earthquake at the 6th seal? The huge crowd, too large to number, seen in heaven.

Therefore, it is silly to even think that we are IN the 70th week. This theory sound a lot like the folks that Paul had to speak to, in 2 Thes. 2.

Hi Vic!!!! Long time!!

Just out of curiosity; what if you're wrong Matthew? Do you think you can just say; oops? I don't know for sure myself, but don't you think there would be some serious ramifications if you are wrong about this? If Jesus IS returning in the future, an error here and there regarding the specifics of prophecy is one thing, but attempting to convince groups of people that He already returned IF He didn't is something else altogether; don't you think? Have you ever considered this? This is a totally inert and straightforward question, having nothing to do with our differences in beliefs. I'm just curious. If it were me, I'd feel like I was betting my entire net worth including my friends, family, and dog in a high stakes poker game (multiplied by a thousand).
