ok, I was wondering if you were near the river. we aren't that far then. about four hours south.

duh, and we for now don't charge to go to the beach. Miami and others large towns do that. I also work on the beach for a few weeks as part of my job. I will be there next wed.i don't care for the beach. this does remind me I need to get a hold of my former boss as he would love to see the pics of the city as far back as the 40's. post a pic of my city if you can. I don't know how to post a pic. I can talk about the area you show.

You post a pic from the internet either by using the little "image" icon in the little menu bar on top of the reply field and then enter the image url. Or you type the [ img ] and [ /img ] tags (without the spaces), I'm old-fashioned, I often type bb code instead of clicking the shortcut buttons . Or you click "upload a file" (middle button of the bottom right corner) to upload a file from your computer.
How can anyone not care for the beach? maybe you get like that if you live by the beach for long... you take it for granted or so.
I hunger to be on a beach, can't afford much travelling so I haven't seen the sea in many years. :-(

Yes. In fact, the riverfront is downtown in my city. Nice park there, near some docks.

bah I can use google earth, I have used to show my work the million dollar homes and the grave yard in the middle of johns island. No its not that. the fact that I have a cancer risk is part of it and also the fact that I really don't like working on the beach the homes are large and the people can be rude to me. its not all the time but case in point. the city manager got a call from a busy body on the mainland that complained MY truck was parked on the grass. duh. Im walking and that is what I must do. my manager didn't bother with that.i will post a pic of where graham stayed at. his home is demolished I think, If it was still standing I could post a pic of that

and here is the beach, note the anchor is one of many we have and I think that anchor is from the biscmark. there was work done on it to save it. that was before that you can see rust.View attachment 3795

I think I went to Jekyl Island for a fieldtrip a few years back. We're closer to Cumberland Island, though. My city has a ferryboat that goes there.

There is a sub base here, too, yes.

When left the three neighborhood dealers shooting my house to pieces and moved just north of Tomball, I lived on Cherriton at the corner of Aldines-Westfield and Aldine Mail Rt. I worked at Aldine-Westfield and Beltway 8.

When I graduated from UH I moved to third ward to be close to my job downtown. When I want to Christmas out of town I came back to a totally empty apt. They even stole my silverware and all the food. Not one single item left. The police told me I didn't belong there cause I am white. I moved pretty quick. I lived on Palm and Almeda. Down the street from the the mortuary with all the colors on it.

Don't think so. Been to a museum about subs, but that's about it.
