..... will agree with in their speech, but will totally oppose in their beliefs. And they don't even know it.
Here it is:
"It is not enough to be anti-sin; you have to have a pro-righteousness position. It is not enough to know what not to do; you have to know what to do."
Boy, I'll get the popcorn for this one, lol. You ask a good question, lol. Here comes the OSAS into the discussion.
I agree with you, exactly how you stated it. It is not enough. Proof is in scripture too. "I never knew you..." is what a lot of people are going to hear. People who believe that they are saved...and apparently, are not. I'd be money not anyone on this board though!
I know what to do too. I guess you could call it building a resume of trust. By obeying the Lord and being a doer, and not just a hearer.
Many times on this board, I've read people write, (something to the effect of), I am saved but not sinless, nor can I be ever on my own, so one day Jesus will come and change me in the twinkling of an eye and then I'll be perfect...It's almost as if they feel, can't do it, don't try. ...and according to my understanding, it just don't work like that.
But scripture also says...Be ye holy even as I am Holy...so you do have to try! You must be, Pro-righteousness. When we make a mistake and sin while walking with the Lord, it is not sin. Willful sin is sin. I don't think many people understand that.
