OK lets start here. First all Born Again ones are required to Obey the Holy Spirits Leading. (Acts 5:32) God created us! Adam & Eve were required this to be Born Again. (REBORN)
And John in 1 John 2 tells us that the Eternal Law is still if force! (compare Heb. 13:20) Note how he is Inspired to say this in...
1 John 1:4-8
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
[6] He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
[7] Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an [[old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.]]
Now we hear that it is finished! (What a crock!)
But John goes on and tells us that the darkness is now past and the Born Again one knows [[when it is that they sin!]] And in 1 John 5:16 + 17 we find that when we fall short that we have Christ as our High Priest who has sent the Holy Spirit back to represent Himself over the whole world! So these ones do not need to do anything but Obey His LEADING. But when some New Truth is given along the way to full Maturity, we must quickly obey. [REMEMBER.. WE KNOW WHEN WE ARE SINNING!]
Are we PERFECT? No, but as we mature we will become more so! 1 John states in 3:4 that sin is the breaking of the law. And yet 1 John 1:6-10
[6] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
[7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
OK: Now where does that leave us?? David in Psalms 19:13 tells about the sin of Presumption, lets read above the verse and then to the verse.
[7] The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
[8] The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
[9] The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
[10] More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
[11] Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
[12] Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Now we come to the danger of PRESUMPTION, when we have been Led of the Holy Spirit & reject His leading. (and John documents that we ARE LED)
Anything other than following His leading is PRESUMPTUOUS SIN. And your church & their teachings?? Learning the truth is just 1/2 of it, we must OBEY ALL OF IT!
Christ in Matt. 23:1-2
[1] Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
[2] Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
[3] All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (the doctrines were not the trouble!)
(now back to where problems arise, after verse 12 David uses the WORD ALSO..)
[13] Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then [[shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.]]
Now lets see what 1 John 5:16-17 says?
1 John 5:16-17
[17] All unrighteousness is sin: and [[there is a sin not unto death.]]
[18] We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is [[begotten of God keepeth himself,]] and that wicked one toucheth him not.
One more?? OK, lets try James 1:15
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Now: How long had you been teaching things that you know are not the truth? [PRESUMPTUOUSLY] Your church’s doctrines? Are you living a presumptuous life? Just think about the little white lies! The first time it was done you knew that it was wrong, yet you did the same old thing over and over again until the Holy Spirit was grieved away. And the lies do not stop there! OSAS is one of the biggest lies that the devil has ever taught!
And the ever burning Hell tops the list of satan's garbage!
