Active Duty Christian

A quick introduction not to bore y’all. My name is Shane and I am happily married to a beautiful and wonderful woman from Oklahoma. We currently have no children and continue to place that decision in God’s hands.

I am an active duty Soldier currently living in Hohenfels Germany. This location is yet another stop as I attempt to finish my career as a Soldier. I was born in Akron Ohio and have lived in many places other than just that town. Some of those places include; Tennessee, Massachusetts, Korea, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Out of all the places I have been and lived I call Oklahoma home.

My hobbies are hunting, fishing, running, CrossFit, and riding my motorcycle. I also belong to a group called Bikers for Christ where we try to spread the word of Jesus to the biker community.

I am currently pursuing my BS in Religion online with Liberty while serving. It has been many years coming but I think God has finally spoke to me and guided me to the point that I truly believe this is the path I am to take. I continue to pray daily that I am doing the right thing and this is His intentions with my life.

My testimony is a road of ups and downs and I hope that others can learn from my mistakes. I also look forward to meeting and learning from you all. Especially if you are smart in Theology 201, lol.

Welcome Shane and thank you for your service. That's awesome you were born in Akron. I'm born and raised in Canton myself so we are from pretty much the same area :)

i see that you have danced twice with the iraqis and the afghanis. is there a chaplaincy in the future for you?

Welcome to CFnet! :wave

Thanks Mike

Thank you, yep, my cousins were from Canton and my brother and sister both live in the Strausburg (spelling?) area now. I'm sure we could find a few stomping grounds in common if we chatted long enough.

Hi, great to see you here. God bless your reading of His Word.

Thank you and God bless you too.

Nope, no Chaplaincy. It was a thought before but I have to much time in now to start down that path. I hope to finish out my last 8 years clean w/ good education behind me and head into youth ministries upon retirement.

Welcome to the forum! And let me say a big, "Thank you!" for serving. My Father-in-Law was stationed in Germany for several years, and loved it there.

Hey welcome! :) What part of Oklahoma are you from? I grew up in the Tulsa area. Also, Bikers for Christ is a super cool group. I don't bike at all but I go on Bill Glass prison ministry trips and there are always a lot of guys from Bikers for Christ there. Its always a huge blessing to have you all there.

My wife and I call Cache home. Near Ft. Sill. We were up at Tulsa for our Honeymoon and have some family up that way too.

Thanks for the work you do with BFC. We sure do appreciate it.

Hey Shane!

Welcome, and thanks for your service!

When I came to Christ, I was in my 30's and a Senior NCO in the 82d.

Now I pastor a church...reckon God has a sense of humor! :lol

Don't be surprised at what He may have in store for you...just sayin' :thumbsup

Hello and welcome! I'm also new to this forum.
My step-father was in the army, but that's been a while. There are some pros, I think, to experiencing living in different places.
The pastor at my church has gone back to school to work on an online degree with Liberty too. I think it's a great idea.
