America and GOD

Was there a time America was ever serious with GOD? In the 70's, 50's etc now???? Just a thought
 
Yes and no. I think the Great Awakening is probably the last time we were serious about God as a nation. I think the 50's was the last time there was a moral code that was accessible to everyone, but unfortunately the 60's changed that.
Even thought there was a greater moral climate in the 50's, I don't know that America was passionate about Jesus.
In the 70's there was the Jesus movement, but I don't think it was influential as the Great Awakening. We need another Great Awakening in Jesus name!

America consists of several million people. In centuries past it may have been less, but it's always been a group/ community of people that was made of individuals that were more or less serious with God.

So your question isn't really valid. A country can't be serious with God because that's something only single people can be. So unless all Americans think alike about God and religion (I'm pretty sure they don't and never did) your question is unanswerable.

I used to believe (though without strong evidence) that America , even before the 50's era was crazy about God: seemed to be more of catholic stuff than what is practised today

'serious' like babylon, yes. seeking fame, fortune and easter eggs.
'serious' like God's people, no. too many people and things going away from Him willfully to say 'america' was ever serious about God.

i.e. just a remnant, like the rest of the world and history when God's people were somewhere in the midst of pagans.
 
America is fine, nothing is changed.

There use to be superstition which America called God. People had morals based on the superstition.
It was not faith, not full bible, but instilled as a moral system.

Today there are stronger believers than in the past, the government lost that superstition.
 
That doesn't match up with what the government says today, nor what 'believers' are saying today. Nor with the way 'believers' are pretending to live today.
The only thing "fine" is that judgment is one day closer, and Yeshua's return will bring the execution of His vengeance on earth and justice finally.

This is really really interesting and is close to my speculation. can you clarify a bit...with instances? Thanks.
 
America is like any other Country as you have those who have been grounded in faith from generation to generation and then you have those who refuse to even hear about God. God is not going to bless America, but only those who are His will He bless no matter what part of the world they are from.

American families through superstition, kept a mosaic type law to keep God happy in the 1900's-1950's. Through this, some thing of the flesh were controlled such as pay what you owe and keep your word. They even had a video to warn school children of the dangerous homosexual. Ignorance and superstition of the Word (As most that was preached was the fires of hell) Kept many things in order.

The government was full of what was called. "God fearing Man" They kept their best interpretation of the Bible, based on not ending up in Hell.


Fear never keeps things for long though. People did not love anymore than they do now, but in fact believers love even better now.

The 60's changed many things, though there was so called God fearing man in Government, they never operated in faith or the love of God. The 60's movement was able to over throw that fear of God and shed much of the superstition.

What was left in just 10 short years was those that still loved God through faith and obedience, and the rest who were no longer afraid. Love wins out, fear lost.

Men still clamored to keep some order, and why we have a million laws to enforce 8 simple commandments. These laws however are not absolute and why there are so many of them.

Today, America is much stronger in God then ever before. Faith in the Word, and keeping integrity because of the love of God and understanding Makes us safe.

Scripture says that spiritual things are foolish to man, and have always been. What used to look like God fearing things, now have more light, and were always broken from the start.

Had the Government in the past allowed what they do today, then we would still have seen the same things we do today.

In other words, there are lots more tree's of Good and evil now to choose from, and there are those that will never eat, and there are those that always wish there was a tree to reach, but now have it.
 
I'm glad that despite the fact that the world is so corrupt..there are yet very few out there who are the true children of God.
