Animals as food.....

Surely, you would not claim this to be strange doctrine, huh, Elijah?
Col 2:16
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

eat away, anytime you please, and be merry (even on your Sabbath). :)
I think Elijah's point was that we are what we eat. God doesn't want us being unhealthy and ruining our bodies, which are temples of God.

in that post, but previous he was speaking of what we should/shouldn't eat according to OT laws.

This thread is about the underlying message that is sent when a Christian eats meat, right? About the idea that one cannot eat meat without saying, "It's okay to kill," and showing DEATH as part of our daily diet?

Let this be our meat: That we stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel. The psalmist once cried, "My tears have become my meat both day and night... I think that our Lord ate of that and shared his knowledge of what it meant through His very life. A life offered for each member here.

Jesus truly is the Bread of Life. He is our manna --> given from Heaven. It is by His death and His sacrifice that we are restored to our family and if we be family -- let it be the visible kind seen by our love for one another. Pretty sure that the bible teaches us that Jesus ate meat (just by the way): "And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?" (Mar 14:12 KJV)

Some may come and say that Jesus became our passover and when He broke bread and gave it to His discples to eat, He said, "This is my body, take and eat." Some may come and say that Jesus himself is the Lamb of God and to that, I would agree. Jesus said that he would not partake again "until that day that [He] drink it new in the kingdom of God.(Mar 14:25)

Come, King of our Hearts and dine with us. Be with us here in Spirit as we continue to look forward to your return.

Hi, I posted the Word of Christ/God. But if you check out His Word's, they are & were from creation on.. well before the flood, and even on, + for why He called Abe, long before any Jews 'belly' was brought on the scene.

My question was, about eternal 'health laws'! (not just the 'flesh' of animals for food)
Surely these laws were not inferior to what is now a scientifically known fact given us for today? Even yesterday's News had it stated that PORK is to be well cooked!;) Hosea 4:6 + Dan. 12:4.

And what about Isa.'s Inspiration of the New Earth ones? Isa. 66:15-17

Even check out Proverbs 23:29-35 for the use of both Good (clean) & fermented bad (unclean) Wine seen there. And most today even 'teach' that Christ was the 'creater' of the BAD FERMENTED STUFF!:screwloose John 2:7-11. And there is NO doctrine that satan does not counterfiet. 2 Cor. 4:2

IF that is all you are stating, then I agree, we should eat healthy and take care of God's temple.
however, to teach anything other than this, as in we must live by the OT law, in that it must be all we eat and when we eat, then you are going way too far.
i don't think a piece of sugar filled, carb infested piece of cake every now and then is necessarily a horrible idea.:) it's a good idea.

???whatever.
But, how do you understand Peter hearing God say something that sounded like counter teaching His Eternal Word in Acts 10:9-17? Yet, notice again that it was not God, but himself that he doubted what this [[THREE TIME VISION]] meant!

:shrug just speaking the Truth, Elijah.

Correct me if I am wrong but Ezekiel never cooked his food over human dung and Peter never did go out and find some creepy crawlies and chow down on them...

Surely Peter was familiar with the precedent of the Prophet who said:
(Eze 4:14 KJV) - "Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth."

But yes, Peter wondered within himself what could be meant by the vision. He had been in Joppa and had just witnessed the ressurection of a disciple named Tabitha, who arose from the dead after a prayer of faith had been offered.
And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Peter was after staying with a man known as Simon the tanner (for a short time) when the Holy Spirit acted and gave another vision but this time to a Centurian in the Roman army, one named Cornelius:
And when he [Cornelius] ]looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

The centurian was told to call and send for Simon Peter -- who was still staying in the house of Simon the tanner. So Cornelius called two men and told them about the what had just happened and sent them to Peter.

The very next day (while the two men were on their way) is when Simon Peter (still at the tanner's home) had the vision and it was about the 6th hour when he was hungry that the vision was given. Peter, while beholding the vision he knew was from God heard the voice command: "Rise, Peter; kill, and eat."

But Peter replied, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean."

And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, "What God hath cleansed, call not thou common." <---- THAT was the threefold vision...

Act 10:17 said:
"Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,"

After he understood what the vision meant Peter explained what happened to those in Jerusalem. According to Acts 11, Simon Peter relayed the entire story to certain men of the circumcision who contended with his understanding, accusing Peter of having eaten with uncircumcised men, saying, "Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them." So Peter told them what had transpired (including the vision) and concluded the matter by saying,
"And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them [Cornelius and those with him], as on us at the beginning.

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

When they [of the circumcision] heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Act 11:15-18 KJV)

The bible tells us that Peter wondered what the vision was about. Scripture also tells us what Peter concluded in the next chapter. Who am I to say different?

OK Rock, what do you say to that?? Why was Peter saying NOT SO TO THAT VISION? That [THREE TIME VISION]? Because he knew that Jesus does not Change! Heb. 13:8-9 + Mal. 3:6 (Nor lie! Titus 1:2!)

So as pointed out by this fine [post], it was Peter's understanding that was his CONCERN! (but what does one hear from the pulpit's of today?:screwloose)

PS: By the way Rock, one of the imates in the other thresd that we talked about approached the Head Chaplain in his prison in SC & requested a vegetarian diet. The chaplain told me that Josh would need testing on his sincerity first.;) (that was when I was allowed in to personally visit)
Anyway, since then Josh has been vegetarian for several months now.:thumbsup

A part of me does not want to put this here because of how disturbing it is but the part of me that cares for living things needs me to in the hope of stopping it.
