Hahaha, the reading went straight from interesting to comical. It's a shame that so many people waste so much time debunking someone elses stand and in the process barely defend their own. There is too much there for me to even pick one misrepresentation to defend. And trust me, I've also read the books these critics 'claim' to have read...and there are many misrepresentations.
My advice to anyone who is serious about studying end times...
Stay away from internet sources and books who spend more time criticizing another belief than teaching their own beliefs.
Study and judge for yourself. Be open-minded when presented with a new way of looking at something...especially if it concerns sound Biblical doctrine. A 'traditional' or 'popular' stand may not always be the correct one.
Let Scripture interpret Scritpure and wherever possible, go for the literal interpretion. It's best not to 'suppose' something means this or something means that.
And about the reviews above...Read Marvin Rosenthal and Robert Van Kampen's book for yourselves.
BTW, like Marvin, I was also a pretribulationist before I was presented a chance to look at all the positions. I truely believe the Bible teaches a pre wrath of God 'rapture'. But I also believe it doesn't affect one's salvation one bit...just their spiritual state of mind.
