if we are in christ and are faithful, no man or devil can snatch us from him. ..................... they should be hiding when he comes, but when that happens they wont know.
True; both statements.
I think we Christians sometimes operate on two planes when it comes to the world.
1. We are genuinely concerned for others.
2. We are fearful.
It's the fear we need to deal with. I can't think of a better way that to immerse ones self in the word of God.
Why all this talk about world governments and situations of man? What have we to fear of it? Honestly. Can we change it? I'd say no. Ultimately no.
Granted I'm not suggesting we sit idle and allow evil to swallow up the world as it sees fit. But I see no healthy activity in wasting ones time studying evil man when one could be using that time to study and commune with a holly good and loving God.
Yes, be careful he who is standing lest he should fall
Ivorhughjarse, let;s look at this scripture I think your citing from 1 Corinthians 12..? it says: 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!
We are talking about evil in the world, and specifically the "NEW WORLD ORDER" as the OP states, which I think we all agree is not something of God, but of the fallen nature of this world...evil. Something born of the nature of man with the hand of the Devil firmly in place.
Should we care about it? Can it get us?
If us is man in general then sure, but if "us" are Christians then no.
the scripture you used is not contextual for this discussion, I don't think. If anything it might lend credence more to the idea that we should be in the word, not the world.
From a broader perspective, 1 Corinthians 10-12, is Paul speaking to the church to give a warning about not being in the word and slipping into the world. It's not a warning about the world itself, nor is it a warning about knowing we are saved in Christ.
Let's add a little more to the verse itself. Lets go 1-13.
1 Corinthians 1-13
1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.†8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9 We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.
11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.
12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
So what does this have to do with things like the new world order, or evil in the world? Nothing really. It's about being weak in the Christ, but thinking your not and falling to the temptations of the fallen world. It has nothing to do with knowing you are firm in Christ. Oxymoron? No, it's not. because if we are worried about a new world order then we think that has power. If we are watching for evil things then we are afraid of evil, and if we are afraid of evil, then what are we but weak in Christ.
One of my favorite quotes from Jesus is this one. John 16:33: 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.â€
Tell me now if we should believe or fear or worry about the new world order. ;)
