God would not leave a seeker of the truth without truth because it is God that impels the seeking and cares for our every need. God impels seeking through love, not fear and when one sees Christ and his consciousness, one falls in love with everything, everyone and God Himself. God is not separate from anything; He is the Life of our life, the Reality within our own reality and the Soul within our being. Christ consciousness is not bad, his mind and actions were pure and with the replication between Christ consciousness and our consciousness we can become better, trying to live a pure life. This is the bringing of our own minds and wills into agreement with Christ consciousness, a consciousness where we experience God and get submerged in the loving will of God. It starts us on a journey toward a new consciousness where Christ consciousness purifies the mind so it becomes free, not worried and unattached because it doesn’t want its own way, but the Lord’s way. Christ said, “Lord let Thy Will be done.

Christ didn't attack abortion clinics, or hold signs bearing "God Hates Fags".
The atrocities and misrepresentations of who Christ really is need to be addressed. Christ forgave and healed the worst of the sinners. He showed love that is supposed to be displayed by the religious folks. When religious zealots brought a woman caught in adultery he spoke out against them because he came not to condemn the world but to save it.

We can change our lives by becoming aware of our unity with Christ and his consciousness and the infinite possibilities that await us, but first, every new stage in life requires us to part from the previous one. Childhood gives rise to youth as it develops into adulthood. After a temporary stay our minds expand doing away with ignorance in order to approach God where the only medium between our minds and pure is our thoughts. As we bring ourselves to a greater consciousness, positive life affirming beliefs are accepted and negative thoughts and problems disappear as we express more love, peace, joy, wisdom and harmony with everything that flows unceasingly from God, but many hesitate to venture into the unknown. They tend to cling to the familiar in life, even if they are not happy. That is why Jesus preached with parables because pure consciousness is above reason but not against it, if pure consciousness can first be translated into terms that the mind can grasp people will learn to sense what is expressed. Christ consciousness and reason are friends, not enemies so we should be open to new ideas because we can always reject what we consider false and concede to the truth. New age is trying to help people and their lives; it is not abusing children, bombing countries, or accusing Tele Tubies of being gay. It is not even saying who should be assassinated so one should not be afraid. A site that clears this us is: http://thinkunity.com

Great post soma.....

I think you have the "Soma-Sight" as well???.... lol

Fear seems to be the overiding theme of the modern day Church in its attempts to convert others to the "correct" way of thinking....

Fear is not the true motivator and reason to seek God. Love is.. You are correct in this.

I think "respect", a Godly respect to be a better term for our attitude towards Christ rather than the abused child syndrome of being scared/afraid of torturous insults from above for simply being alive and not being obediant enough.....

Fear is the mindkiller.

And does Jesus agree with y'all?

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28

And what did the King Solomon record in the scriptures of the fear of God?

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Proverbs 1:20-33

Context my dear Solo..... Context....

This verse was OBVIOUSLY written to those that had/have NO REGARD for the existance of God and the Divine Good.....

Those that this verse implies are those that lack....

LOVE!!!!!

Here are just a FEW verses dealing with LOVE as the cornerstone of the Christian walk.....

FEAR is for the unbeliever and derilect that is a slave to the apathetic sin of ignoring the Divine presence in himself and others..... not the ones that are walking in the light

You may choose fear as your overiding emotion for God...

But I will choose LOVE...

Leviticus 19:34

The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 19:33-35

Deuteronomy 6:1

[ Love the LORD Your God ] These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,

Deuteronomy 6:5
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

Deuteronomy 7:12
If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers.

Deuteronomy 10:12

[ Fear the LORD ] And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deuteronomy 11:1
[ Love and Obey the LORD ] Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.

Deuteronomy 11:13
So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you todayâ€â€to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul-
Deuteronomy 11:12-14 (in Context) Deuteronomy 11 (Whole Chapter)

Deuteronomy 11:22
If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to followâ€â€to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him-

Deuteronomy 13:3
you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

Luke 10:27
He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Isaiah 41:13 (New International Version)

13 For I am the LORD, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, DO NOT FEAR;
I will help you.

Luke 8:50

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, FEAR NOT: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

Mark 5:36

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE!

Since ego makes us fear other realities than God, it temporarily gives us, as it were, a greater belief in those realities than in God. This temporary disbelief then disables us from hearing the Voice of Holy Spirit. No wonder that Jesus therefore warned us about fear. On the other hand ... this ... each manifestation of fear ... is how ego betrays itself!

The ego, however, literally lives on borrowed time ... time which is "borrowed" from your eternity ... and its days are numbered. What can be fearful but fantasy and who would turn to fantasy unless he despairs of finding satisfaction in reality? Yet it is certain that you will never find satisfaction ... lasting satisfaction ... in fantasy, so that your only hope is to "change your mind" about reality. Only if the decision that reality is fearful is wrong can God be right. And I assure you that God is right. Be glad, then, that you have been wrong, but this was only because your identification and your teacher (ego) were wrong and because you consequently did not know who you truly were. Had you known, you could no more have been wrong than God can.

I find it interesting Soma-Sight that you tell Solo to remember the context but then take some of your supporting verses out of context. Although God is Love and much of the Bible is about the love and compassion of God, much of the Bible is also about God's judgement and dire warnings to those who reject Him.

The point is that we are to fear God, because He is God, and although that can and maybe should be an initial motivation for seeking Him, as one matures it is the perfect love that casts out all fear that becomes the motivation for serving Him.

Solo, Lonelyguide,

Thanks guys for this knowlege. Very interesting and informative.

Free,

Fair enough.

I just believe Love supercedes Fear.

My understanding was always that the fear comes out of the love. Like when you are in love with a girl and you are afraid of doing something to make her unhappy. Not so much with the cowering like some abused wife afraid of being hit.

Shinto said:

That may be your understanding but it goes against what the Bible teaches.

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding.

I trust the Lord's Word more than Shinto's "understanding."

Jesus made it very clear. Jesus said to fear God who can kill your body and then cast your soul into hell...

Luke said:
"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Luke 12:4-5
I will listen to Jesus long before some new-age theory by Somo-Sight or Shinto.

:D

Too bad this "New Age" theory of God's Love is totally scriptural!

And of course we are to take Gary as having objective Truth....

He was an atheist for 30 years.... Of course he understands God's Will now!!!
After all he may have been an atheist for 30 years but we should trust him as having all the answers now!

They take it far beyond Scripture and this is the problem.

Read Colossians... dispels your new age Gnosticism.

It seems that they were also listening to the "mystics" who had visions. Paul warns them.

Paul said:
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self- imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Colossians 2:16-23
Still so caught up in your Saturday/Sabbath day and vegetarian rituals Soma-Sight? Still having "visions" Soma-Sight?
