Too bad this "New Age" theory of God's Love is totally scriptural!

[snip]

Luke 8:50
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, FEAR NOT: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

Mark 5:36
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE!
This is not about the fear of God but the fear of death. Jairus' daughter had died. Jesus calmed him. Read it IN CONTEXT:

Luke and Mark said:
While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," he said. "Don't bother the teacher any more."

Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."

When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. "Stop wailing," Jesus said. "She is not dead but asleep."

They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!" Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

Luke 8:49-55 and Mark 5:22-43

Isaiah 41:13

13 For I am the LORD, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, DO NOT FEAR;
I will help you.

Again, a verse taken out of context. This is NOT about the fear of God. Quite the opposite. It is about Israel's fear of her enemies!

Read IN CONTEXT:

Isaiah 41:11-16

11 "All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.

12 Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.

13 For I am the LORD, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.

14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob,
O little Israel,
for I myself will help you," declares the LORD,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

15 "See, I will make you into a threshing sledge,
new and sharp, with many teeth.
You will thresh the mountains and crush them,
and reduce the hills to chaff.

16 You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up,
and a gale will blow them away.
But you will rejoice in the LORD
and glory in the Holy One of Israel.

:D

It sure does help to read the whole scripture in context and know it to keep one from twisting the Word into something that could be taken in the wrong light. The wrong light like satan was trying to do during Jesus' temptation.

Read Colossians... dispels your new age Gnosticism.

It seems that they were also listening to the "mystics" who had visions. Paul warns them.

Looks like Gary is condoning "magic buttons" after all with this Paul quote...

lol....

Fear God all you want.

To me it is a secondary characteristic of God and should not be treated as the primary motivator for living a good life....

I have FEARED God in my life but choose to put LOVE ahead of this negative emotion....

You usually fear when you are doing something wrong so cut thatout and you are good to go....

As far as the SDA movement....

They are the LONGEST LIVING people in the WORLD....

Want to argue with those fruits?

Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.

I mention one vision I had and you go to this...

Come on Gary!

Guess its better to "stay in the closet"....

lol

Christian Mystics are having an estatic spiritual experience with God. Christians who do not have a personal experience with God condemn them and say they are going to hell because they don't understand. We are lucky that they are only verbally condemning them and not crucifying them. When Jesus comes back the Christian pharisess will condemn and try to crucify him so let us all stand up for Christ.

Edited: Not a mainstream Christian link.

What in the world does that mean? :o

I guess you are not having a personal experience with Christ?

lololololololololololololol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just showed us ALL something about you BB!

Thank you SO much!

Christians who do not have a personal experience with God condemn them and say they are going to hell because they don't understand.

Obviously you have never felt the immense joy, peace, transcendence, and well being that the Holy Spirit has to offer to all true Children of God....

That sucks.

I love Jesus Christ. I know Him through His word.

You can put this down if you choose. I don't care.

John 17:17-20 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

I read God's word and I believe. I walk by faith in God's word and in His truth.

You guys can take your experience. I don't trust you or your false christ.

It seems you know the words about Jesus Christ, but not their value. You need to know Christ. Copy and paste Bible versus is not knowing Christ just the words. Don't be afraid, open your heart and mind. God will guide you and pick you up if you fall. If you think other people's Christ is fake and you don't know them or their Christ, it seems you are projecting your own thoughts. Your Christ is real. Don't be afraid.

When people base their beliefs on the feelings of the flesh they are always led into deception, but when people base their beliefs on the Word of God, they are always led into truth.

Not true. You don't know scripture nor the power of God.

Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

I reject your imposter Jesus, your empty words and your phony experience.

1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

"Your Christ is real. Don't be afraid."

"Not true. You don't know scripture nor the power of God."

I am sorry that you don't think your Christ is real. I am also sorry that you are afraid of the shadows, when God's light will protect you. You know your scared interpretation of the scripture. That is the difference between the old and new Testament, when will you get to the New T. The God of Love.

I know that the Jesus of scriptures is real.

The God of the OT and the God of the NT are the same God.

You are putting words in my mouth.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

If you truely believed you would show more compassion and love in your post. Jesus was not intolerant, but very tolerant. He gave his life for the sinners.

Jesus died for sinners and loves us but he does not tolerate sin.

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Love is a lot deeper than the sugar coated manure that men pass off as love.

Hebrews 12:6-8 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Luke 13:1-3 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
