Are you a true Sabbath keeper?

Ema said:
Hello, :)

Hebrews 3 and four definitely tie the spiritual rest to the Seventh-day Sabbath-keeping initiated and commanded by God in the beginning. Otherwise, we would not find in verse four a direct quote from Genesis 2:2. “For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works†(Hebrews 4:4).

The reason for citing God’s resting on the Sabbath from His work of creation is revealed only when we look at verses nine and ten. Paul says that what remains for God’s people is not KATAPAUSIS (a spiritual rest), but SABBATISMAS, meaning a literal keeping of the Sabbath. Then in verse ten we find the real key which proves beyond a question that the SABBATISMAS rest was not spiritual only, but a cessation from physical work. “For he that is entered into his rest (KATAPAUSIS—spiritual rest), he ALSO (in addition to the spiritual rest) hath ceased from his own works, AS GOD DID FROM HIS.â€

GBU all :pray

Are you saying we can walk in the vanity of our own minds 6 days a week? That God only wants us to walk in His power one day a week?

The cessation from our own works is a permanent sabbath. Jesus is Lord of the sabbath. When we enter into sabbath we enter into His lordship.

Here are the rules for the Shabbat. Remember you cannot even break ONE of these, you must be careful to keep all of these. As this is a LAW, there is no GRACE for you if you break it, Once you are under a law, the Bible says you MUST now keep the WHOLE Law .

Good luck !

And to think that I had read your postings?? --Elijah :screwloose

Very good understanding for where one is 'spiritually' at in maturity.
Christ came to 'Magnify the law and make it honorable'. Isaiah 42:21.
It surely needed to be done, huh? And this verse deals with the WHOLE of the Moral code, Covenant! (remember, nothing much was said by Christ about Moses law)

Sabbath: The Sabbath does tell one what is their individual 'spiritual desire' if one truly Loves Christ! See 2 Corinthians 3:3 in the King James. Epistle means Christ Letter to us. There are two ways to know Truth. Isaiah 8:20 tells how! And the Sabbath is in-bodied in both of these tests. First is Christ's Law & then comes His reason for coming, to straighten it out! Magnify it.

OK: When one has been Born Again. He now, & ONLY now, LOVES CHRIST. (other/wise, who needs Christ??) Even the 'some' love that the sinner has not lost because of sin, still is from the creator. But this is not good enough, ALL still are required to return to the first creation love for Christ & His Salvation. John 3:3! See Hebrews 10:15-16, Hebrews 6:1-5, & Hebrews 8:10 + 2 Corinthians 3:3 again.

So here we see in Hebrews 3:6-19 a required history repeat testing to close out history. (If we believe the Word of God in Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 & Ecclesiastes 3:15, and the 666 testing that separates all the professed saved, just before they are to enter their Land of Canaan?)

The chapter to study for this is Exodus 16:4-5 & Exodus 16:23-28, and Exodus 16:35's borders of their Canaan. (most are still looking for this, I believe?) Anyhow, if one will read this, perhaps they will see that the food was prepared or gathered on the preparation day before the Lords Sabbath days need? And that was given by God Himself, yet it was their 'work' to have it collected the day before. But reread verse 28 again! Exodus 16:28. "And the Lord said, How long REFUSE YE to keep My Commandments, and My Laws." Here is clearly seen that the 7th Day Sabbath was the ONLY test given for the Breaking of the Godhead's TOTAL COMPLETE COVENANT!! See James 2:8-12.

That answers food duties for the Born Again ones. Now for the last day increased knowledge of Hosea 4:6's computer 'work'?? Plus, much, much more!!
In Isaiah 58:12-14 we surely see the Born Again ones of John
3:3! "... call the Sabbath a DELIGHT, the HOLY OF THE LORD, HONORABLE;..."

Let me stop there for a question or two? On these forums we see the Eternal Covenant by some, called a jail, plus, much much more??? (you name it) Yet, notice the Word of God saying that it is to be a DELIGHT! How can this be?? Only by having the carnal heart BORN AGAIN! For a carnal heart & mind, the law of God is BONDAGE.

But before we continue on with the chapter, be sure that you notice that it says, "And they that shall be of thee shall build the 'old wast places:' thou shalt [raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, THE REPAIRER OF THE BREACH, THE RESTORER OF THE PATHS TO DWELL IN]... (Read Daniel 7:25again! and then enter Revelation 12:17)

... [IF] thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath , [from doing thy pleasure on my Holy Day;] ... (Break before continuing on for the original question! There is bad 'pride'! God hates a proud look! Yet, there is a spiritual Godly PRIDE that God does not hate. You dress well for who, when one goes to meet with God at church? If it is for self alone? it is hated by God, if it is a Godly pride, looking well for His sake, (which includes Godly self) then it is 'maturely' required!

A Restorer of Paths to dwell in?? Surely, God wants His Born Again EPISTLE OF CHRIST children to use HIS last day increased Knowledge for reaching the world about this devil's breach of His Eternal Covenant Day for Worship!! See Revelation 1:10's Work of God to John!

Now: Is the Sabbath that God Blessed & Set Aside for Holy USE doing my own pleasure or as God says.. ".. and call the Sabbath a DELIGHT, the Holy of the Lord, HONORABLE;.." (hold it again, before going on! Let me tell you, that the Lord's Work is the Story of my Born again Life! And if any more Last Day Knowledge comes into my possession, take a guess of what I will do on my Lord;s Sabbath Day!)

... If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing [thy own PLEASURE] on [MY HOLY DAY;] and call the Sabbath a DELIGHT, the HOLY OF THE LORD, HONORABLE; and shalt HONOR HIM, [NOT DOING THY OWN WAYS, NOR THINE OWN PLEASURE, NOR SPEAKING THINE OWN WORDS, THEN SHALT THOU DELIGHT THYSELF [IN THE LORD]..." (compare Romans 8:1)
And own pleasure?? our own pleasure aside from God requirements are not Sabbath Duties! Ball games! T.V. for entertainment, or everyday shop talk. We are to devote our time with God, by doing His 'spiritual' duties. And these duties are to be LOVING ONES!

If one is Born Again, they can readily see what Christ did when He came to earth to MAGNIFY THE LAW OF GOD AND TO MAKE IT HONORABLE!! When tithe paying was a issue? He said that they were hypocrites, they paid tithe, which they OUGHT TO HAVE DONE, yet omitted the WEIGHTIER matters of the [LAW]. Matthew 23:23-24.

He and the Sabbath 'spiritual' workers were walking through a corn field, and they ate enough for their need. They did not steal, nor did they take a basket along for the next day! Again read Matthew 23:24!!

And healing the sick? (On the Sabbath Day) It seems silly for me to even mention this?? And leave the ox stuck in the ditch? Sure would seem like a Christ/like thing to do, huh? And to think that with the Word of God as we have it today to study & read, HE STILL NEEDS TO MAGNIFY THE LAW AND MAKE IT HONORABLE!!?? (and I am not talking about the ones that do not know Christ, or the ones who are sincerely ignorant, but the ones who say that they know Christ?? See Luke 12:47-48)

Perhaps Christ needs even more Sabbath Day computer 'workers'! See Revelation 3:16-17

God is not a legalistic God. He doesn't issue hoops to be jumped through. He is not a petty tyrant, nor a martinet.

God desires that we cease from our dead works in order to be filled with His grace and strength. From there we are no longer under the law.

The sabbath laws are akin to this diet I once read for overweight sailors...

Day one: One sesame seed
1cm of thread
1 small button

etc...

In other words if you are overweight we will put you through the gears!!!!!

So it is with the sin nature...if you must remain carnal, here's what you have to do..wink wink! ;)

Your posting 'still' sounds exactly like Cain telling God in person what his offering was all about! (recorded in Gen. 4:7) :crying

The Sabbath was given to the children of Israel. Not to their fathers and it was never required by the writers of the New Testament....yet still we see judging about it's keeping. :confused

Hi, 'i' covered this before with another post. And am just replying to the post material The laws that the post give above are Holy Spirit Inspired and are absolutely True. So you would be well to consider the last two verses in Gods Word of warning & come back with finding (posting up) where the Ten Commadment Covenant [[[EVER]]] even mentions or even hint to these laws of [MOSES] in those two tables that God Himself wrote? Even sabbath[] are plural & are not the 7th day Sabbath but other feast days and the such.

And judging anyone??? There is a Matt. 28:20 verse that I am 'duty' bound to administer with interests, if they would not subbmit to Gods requirements [they] would not be baptised by me. See Matt. 16:27-28.

And if any Church Fold (Candelstick) will not obey God?? They become Rev. 17:1-5. Even note verse 5. And Rev. 2:5 tells of this REMOVAL BY GOD!

Believers have a higher calling. Jesus taught that there is more to righteousness than just following the precepts of the law. A person can follow the 10 commandments and still be in disobedience to what Jesus taught. So follow the letter of the law and call someone a fool or look at a woman with lust, but Jesus expects more from his followers.

Thou shalt not kill becomes more...
Matthew 5:21-26 said:
Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Thou shalt not commit adultery becomes more....
Matt. 5:27-28 said:
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
On these TWO Commandments hang all the law and the prophets....
Matthew 22:37-40 said:
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Nope, no Sabbath here too :)

Act 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also shall tell you the same things by word of mouth.
Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
Act 15:29 that ye abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which if ye keep yourselves, it shall be well with you. Fare ye well.
Act 15:30 So they, when they were dismissed, came down to Antioch; and having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle.
Act 15:31 And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation.

No way? You're denying the higher calling of the New Covenant?
It isn't a question of serving God or mammon. It's a question of following the New Covenant or remaining under bondage to the Old.

Some like to twist what's been posted to read a lack of love for Christ. :screwloose

Yet, Jesus tells us His yoke is easy and His burden light....and it is.
Why? Because all the law hangs on just two commandments......Love God and Love our fellow man.
The indwelling Holy Spirit empowers us to fulfill all the law through LOVE.
Matthew 11:30 said:
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
While some tempt God by trying to put a yoke of bondage upon the believer. :shame
Acts 15:10 said:
Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
We're warned against those who desire to put us back into bondage.
We follow the Spirit not the letter of the law. That is His command to us.
Galatians 5:1 said:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
We are, indeed, delivered from the law....where we were held in bondage, we are now free to serve God in Spirit and in truth. Therein we can truly do the WILL of God.
Romans 7:6 said:
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

It's by grace that we find delight in any of the commandments, otherwise what one perceives and looks at is : a burden.

This is valid for any of the commandments. Try it yourself with any or all of them.

Is it a burden not to steal ?

Is it a burden not to kill ?

Is it a burden to love God ?

Is it a burden to love your neighbour ?

Is it a burden to not commit adultery ?

Is it a burden to not covet your neighbour's wife ?

Is itt a burden to keep the sabbath day holy?

what kind of nature is the love then that some claim? If it's contrary to what God says it's not real love, maybe it's feigned affection.

if someone says "there is only one commandment, and that is love" then have a look at this:

1 John 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

2 John 1:6  And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

God does define love not as the world defines love,

we can see the difference to the "One-world-one-love" slogans, or the popular culture roots of last century that was based on

"all you need is love" by the Beatles, and the late John Lennon that wrote "Imagine" to show what he really had in mind, "Imagine" is the perfect New Age song that became the 5th best selling song of all time. Read it's lyrics, that's univeral new age love without heaven, without hell, and without God.

Old Elijah lives in this kind of belive'ism called the Bible Belt. My wife & I have been giving Bible studies two two cellmates who have Bible Belt Pastor fathers. One Pentacostal & the other Babtist. The spiritual IQ is the lowest of all USA, (as I see it!) with this documented SAT scoring, you would know that if God approved of their life style, that the opposit would be seen.

And we are not even talking of being poor! but of spiritual brain power! Think of God documenting that He only has Immortality, and then this teaching for truth for well past 120 years of the Striving of the Holy Ghost in Gen. 6:3.. 'of eternal burning maggots in a lukewarm hell?' :screwloose ) + much else going on!

One deacon was sentenced a few weeks back & one of the 2 woman testified that he told the jury that...he was ready to go! and that they all thought that he would shoot & kill them. But that is not the half of this teachig garbage! '.. of promising them life' as seen in 2 Peter 2:19 and then comes the rest of the story! (verses 19 on through 22)
Yes, this kind of freedom will sure make heaven a nice place to be, huh, one wonders as why God would have given satan & his 'bunch' the boot, huh forum? But the Eternal Covenant will be kept by the ones who will be saved, the ones who love Their Master! That IS THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL! Nah. 1:9

**TAKE NOTE HERE FOR WHAT SABBATH DUTIES ARE! '...

He and the Sabbath 'spiritual' workers were walking through a corn field, and they ate only enough for their need. They did not steal, nor did they take a basket along for the next day! Again read Matthew 23:24!! (and what do we hear from some on this forum even?? )

See Luke 12:47-48 for what is the END result of these ones)
Perhaps Christ needs even more Sabbath Day computer 'workers'! See Revelation 3:16-17

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:
Col 2:17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's.

A shadow happens when the real thing stands in the light. Its a dark and imperfect copy of what is real. The Sabbath is a shadow.

Hey, where do you see [anything] of even a hint about these things in Christ's Eternal Law?? (Exod. 20) And you do believe that HIS Law is to be recreated in/to the Born Again heart, (Heb. 10:15-16) right??? You surely have understood that Moses laws had many sabbath for special Jewish occasions? ( 2 Chron. 8:12-13)
